Message 1831690 - Posted: 21 Nov 2016, 4:46:42 UTC

is there a shortage of work for newer AMD GPUs?
I haven't had any work for my R9-390 for about a week, but have been getting work for my HD7870

trying to figure out if something is broken my end or this is just normal...

Cheers

There shouldn't be. Can you please update your drivers? SSP says there is 500k available units to send

EDIT: any chance both cards are in this PC? http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6916095

Yes that is the PC...

I'll try updating the drivers but I'm pretty sure it's on the same drivers it got the last work for that card on...

Copy this into notepad,

<cc_config>
 <options>
   <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
   </options>
</cc_config>

And save it as cc_config.xml and insert in into the BOINC data folder. ;-)

Cheers.

I can see your system has, at this timestamp, 281 tasks in progress. The server limits each machine to 100 CPU task and 100 tasks per GPU. So you defiantly have work for both GPUs to be running at the same time. As both of your GPUs have the same pool of tasks to work from.

With Windows 10 I'd suspect it may have done some driver or other update that has caused as issue, but let's hope that's not the issue.
Posting the BOINC starting lines will help determining that.

Do you have any GPU tasks that are in a state other that Running or Ready to start, like Waiting to run?

EDIT: Since I just saw your startup. Is the R9 running Milkyway tasks instead of SETI right now?
If not try Use GPU always to see if they both start. If they do then we know there is just a BOINC issue.

Also I just looked at your task list. It looks like that machine has not returned any GPU tasks for about a week. So none of your GPUs seem to be running SETI at the moment.
SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours

OK..
I think I found the problem... I had set app_config.xml to 1 GPU 1 CPU (which appeared to be working fine for ages), just set it to 1 GPU 0.5 CPU and it seems to of fixed it...

I'll leave it for the night and see how things go...
