Hide the credit cards while you are at it as well..hahahaha.....

I don't think that will be a problem given what we have seen for prices for the next generation of cards....

Not for me either. I will never be a "price is no object" person. I don't mind middle of the range investments (color me unable to support my aspirations) but I will never see the point in having 125+ machines.

I wonder. Is it possible that those people with that many machines have actually recruited a "club" of people to run them? It certainly would make the electrical bill a little more understandable.

Tom

I would think that someone with a large fleet of hosts simply is an IT Manager at a company or organization with the approval to install BOINC onto all the organizations computers.

I have finally reached my first 1 million credits. Took me a few years of on and off crunching to do it.

Congratz. That first million is the hardest to reach it seems.

Probably would be pretty easy to determine if that's the case, as I doubt that fleet of company PCs would have any sort of upscale GPUs. If all the work's CPU, or low-end GPU, that would tell the story . . .

Woohoo, Finally!

I got the same RAC now as I had back at the finish of the 2017 WOW Event (Aug 28), which was the peek for my #1 computer @ 214,589.
Now I'm back up to 214,701 RAC

All it took was replacing a 1080 with a TITAN XP, 4 core CPU to 6, then 10 cores,
AND of course Petri's expertise in coding the 'Habanero Sauce' app :D
That alone gave me a 60k increase in the last 13 days!

OMG!

I have cracked (so to speak) the top 200 computers on "the list." (192?)

I think the air up here is getting a little thin or I'm hallucinating :)

And it is still winding up.

Thank you petri, Tbar, Al, Ian&SteveC. and everyone else who was supportive out here!

I should reach 100k RAC today, and also 2M credit =)

Long time SETI user, but i've stopped crunching in 2007,
started back 3 weeks ago with only 71k, the difference in gpu/cpu power is massive since 2007!

Next goal : 10M before the end of the year!

You'll have to wait for that sauce to brew some more time. I hope I can distill the essence of it and put it into a nice little bottle with an ear-worm (jingle) suitable for both the existing and forthcoming generations. I'm thinking at my best when I walk outdoors...

p.s.
My days and or evenings go now with Pokemon go app walking with my wife and children (when the weather allows for it and sometimes even if it does not). My friend invite code is .... I joined in some three weeks ago - now at level 24. I think I look like the Snorlax.
