Thanks everyone. Going to have a setback today as I lost my A/C a couple of hours ago and had to shutdown the crunchers. Cheers, Keith Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

Hit the 20 E6 credits this week. An upgrade from 750Ti to 1060 has boosted the RAC in a big way. Now the race is on to see if I will make it to 30 mil before the 20 year mark. I am bouncing in and out of the top 100 computer list; heavily affected by the flow of Astro Pulse work, or the lack thereof. That 2-digit rank won't last very long - as more Setizens upgrade to high-end GPU cards their high RAC's will gradually push me back down. Well, its fun while it lasts. We're all in it for the science, of course, and use those crazy credit numbers merely as comparisons of relative system performance. We are all aware of the science goal of Seti but the idea comes to my mind that somebody, somewhere, somehow, is learning a whole lot about the operation of distributed computing networks and the databases associated with them. Seti, and the other BOINC projects, can claim some credit for pushing that technology forward. ...Go! Kittyman... anxiously watching for your 987654321 marker! |

Hail, fellow crunchers! I hit 15 million today, and I am hoping to get to 20 million for my 20th anniversary. I may need to get myself a Christmas/endoftheyearholidays present! |

I have finally reached 1 million credits! Now with that info screen printed out and $6 I can get a Starbucks coffee! My legacy is now set in stone for all mankind to see LOL (or at least unitl the project runs out of funding). I'm putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all, I think, that any conscious entity can ever hope to do. |

I usually miss it when I hit certain numbers, but due to the WOW event, and checking my totals, I see I passed 58 million yesterday evening. |

Yup, these forums should carry that warning. It appears I have totaled up 22,806,363 or so. But I have been running across a number of machines. Almost two years ago I caught a case of "core envy" which resulted in one box getting a 6c/12t upgrade. Buying and selling another higher core count box and now having a 8c/16t running plus a 16c/32t in the shop waiting on the last pieces to resurrect it. All that and 3 Gtx 750Ti's and two Gtx 1060 3GB's too. Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Hide the credit cards while you are at it as well..hahahaha..... I don't think that will be a problem given what we have seen for prices for the next generation of cards.... |

My APR has dropped by 1000 but the credits per WU have come to the new high with blc-tasks. They pay now like 80 cr per WU compared to the old 50 / WU. I do not know what happened. Execution times have risen from 27-34 secons to 40+ seconds on my Volta but they pay well. And my recent average credit seems to be rising. That may be due to version change -- less inconclusives. Hide the credit cards while you are at it as well..hahahaha..... Not for me either. I will never be a "price is no object" person. I don't mind middle of the range investments (color me unable to support my aspirations) but I will never see the point in having 125+ machines. I wonder. Is it possible that those people with that many machines have actually recruited a "club" of people to run them? It certainly would make the electrical bill a little more understandable. I have finally reached my first 1 million credits. Took me a few years of on and off crunching to do it. |
