Maybe the initial </app_version> should be <app_version>? . . HI Klik . . I am running mostly 950s and I run them 2 at a time using SoG r3557. I find that fully utilises the GPU and gives the best output. I am running one at a time on this rig ATM but that is for stastistical purposes only, I intend to return it to 2 ata time. Stephen . |

So, the kitties wish to drink the kool-aid. And I am not in the mood to do things piecemeal. Are things stable enough that we might see an installer soon? Or is this tweaking going to go on forever? Please do not consider me as being impatient. I have been waiting for a long while now. And I assure you, I would not want it released until ready. Just wondering. Meow. So, the kitties wish to drink the kool-aid. The Beta6 installer includes r3557/8.20 if you are looking for that version. Beta is currently pushing out 8.21 or r3571 for non-SoG and r3578 for SoG builds. Maybe the initial </app_version> should be <app_version>? Are you using a 768 or 1024 cores version? 1,5GF or 1,8GF? Is it on PCIe 3.0 or slower board? 'cause mine is on PCIe 2.x board.... non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

. . Well one is on a PCIe 3.0 board (i5-6400) and the other 2 are on a PCIe 1.0 board (Pentium D-930) but the results are almost identical. They are all 2GB GDDR5 cards and all 950s only have 768 shaders or CUDA cores and a 128 bit bus. . . As for 1.5GF or 1.8GF, I am not with you, as in, I don't know what you are asking. Stephen . |

1st of all, thank you for answer...so PCIe 1.0 is not even bottleneck for GTX 950! As for bold, I'll explain...GF is GigaFlops...as there are 2x GTX 950: 1. with 768 CUDA cores & speed of 1,5GF: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/2747/geforce-gtx-950 2. with 1024 CUDA cores & speed of 1,8GF: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/2817/geforce-gtx-950-oem Hope I helped you with links, as I always consult this page before purchase! ;) non-profit org. . . Thanks for pointing that out to me. I was unaware that the oem version had a different structure and more CUDA cores. But the oem version is clocked lower and the higher clock rate of the other 950 can be an advantage when running OpenCL. But either should give good results. And with SoG r3557 I would think of running singles or doubles but no more. . . But at this time I would consider buying a GTX 1050 ti over both of them. It has the advantages of both the above cards and would give better results and also does not need an external PCIe power connector from the PSU. That is up to you, but one advantage of the 950s is that they are in runnout mode and rather cheap at the moment. Stephen . |

Here are new RC Windows builds with decreased RAM usage: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/GBfC/ursv23Kpa So I'm giving this new version a try. First impression, something unusual...12 BLC all starting at the same time 3 per GPU. The first 6 BLC are all using 97% of CPU, GPU 0 & 1. The next 6 on GPU 2 & 3 are using 66% of core and running about 5 % slower than the GPUs 1 & 2. Can't be sure if this is a PCIe X issue or if it's software. I'll have to try this out on a different computer where i know all PCIe are the same speed and see if it repeats or not. |

Looks like it is a PCIe issue. Forget what I said in my previous post. |

Not so sure about your place, but 950 cost as much as 1050 in Croatia: - 950 http://www.instar-informatika.hr/search.asp?upit=950 - 1050 http://www.instar-informatika.hr/search.asp?upit=1050 :/ & don't let me started on 750... :( non-profit org. Play4Life in Zagreb, Croatia, EU |

So, the kitties wish to drink the kool-aid. LOL...HAL9000.................. The kitties are trying to wait until the apps are stable enough for an official installer to be released. Makes things much easier when trying to upgrade 8 crunchers. I realize that the apps are still being worked on and being improved. But with tongue in cheek, I must say this is starting to resemble the old adage............. If you always wait to buy the most advanced version of something, you shall never buy anything. I am really not complaining too loudly. I know that people are working long and hard on this. So please take my anxiousness with a grain of salt. I just wish to take advantage of the latest and greatest, but want the easy way to do it................LOL. Can you say 'cake and eat it too?' I have learned many things in this life. But patience was never one of them. Please forgive me. Meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

So, the kitties wish to drink the kool-aid. As someone once said "I need to learn patience ? How long will that take?" :P I'm not sure the "Beta" in the installer is 100% correct. As some versions contain apps that have been released on Main. I think "Beta5" contains v8.19 apps and v8.19 is the current application version for Main. However Beta is already on v8.22. Maybe if it performs as expected it will be released to Main. I'm not sure about all of the changes between the app versions, but recently lowering the applications system memory usage has been the focus. . . Hi Klik . . It seems the conversion rate from AUD to Kuna is about 1:5. So multiply the prices in AUD by 5 and see if they post to Croatia, or if you have a friend in Australia they could buy one and post it to you :) . . Notice that the GTX950 Low Power (which I am running in this machine) is marked down to AUD $169 (893 Kn). The GTX1050 ti Expedition is AUD $259 (1366Kn), so there is a big saving on "runout" models :) Not sure if they actually do send to Croatia, but the USA sites may do, like Amazon and Newegg. There is a nice shop in NY that is competitive in pricing too .... https://www.mwave.com.au/graphics-cards/nvidia-graphics-cards/asus?display=list https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1153152&gclid=CP73kMOzycsCFUiUvQodqL0Gwg&is=REG&Q=&A=details https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/graphic-display-cards/Ns/p_PRICE_2|0/ci/30909/pn/8/N/3668461604 . . I bought my low profile GT 730 from the NY shop because no one in OZ (Australia) seem to cater for the low profile market and the unit I bought was "Not available" at every Oz site I tried. It was slow getting here but the service was good in every other respect. And the shipping cost was reasonable. And $165 USD is about 1190 Kn. Stephen . |

. . Hi Kitty Man . . I think you would find the Lunatics Beta 6 installer pretty easy to use and I can recommend the r3557 version included :) Stephen . |

Oh, the Lunatics installers have never been a problem to use. Richard does a great job with them indeed. (Thanks, Richard.) I suspect that if there is no newer version released by the end of next week, when my holiday vacation starts, I'll bite the bullet and install the latest that is available. . . I think you would find the Lunatics Beta 6 installer pretty easy to use and I can recommend the r3557 version included :) This is correct BUT on my 770 moving from beta-5 (r3528) to beta-6 (r3557) on 11-9 my RAC dropped from 16,444.33 to 11,807.42 On 10-21. I re-installing beta-5 the rac began to climb to 12,143.00 on 12-5, I then did a system reconfiguration but the recovery appeared to be well on its way ... Oh well the good things never last ... But if you are tracking your work output I suspect you will find it has not gone down, well certainly by that amount :) Stephen . |
