http://www.huffingtonpost.com/c-m-rubin/can-donald-trump-pass-the_b_11044722.html In my opinion, it isn't so much that Trump (or other politicians) are scientifically illiterate, but a majority of the people (USA and elsewhere) are. Trump (and others) are pandering to the scientifically illiterate's bogus beliefs in order to get votes. Again, it isn't so much that Trump (and other politicians) is stupid... It is that the majority of the electorate is... He (and others) are repeating the horse-shizz in order to get votes. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

OK the game was mildly entertaining... for a few minutes. His absurd tweets are much more entertaining than a game built around them. Not sure I would ever quote the Huffington Post on anything. I can't read their pap without cringing. They disgust me equally as much as Trump's tweets. This game gives Trump more of the one thing he desires above all; attention, even negative attention is his craving, no matter. I look forward to the day when nobody will want to talk about him. (I can dream, can't I?) He does not care if you consider him stupid or brilliant. he just cares that he is the center of attention. In his words, "I WIN!" |

He does not care if you consider him stupid or brilliant. he just cares that he is the center of attention. Yes, I really don't think Trump is that dumb about science. He just wants the vote however he can get it. The sadder thing is his sound bytes appeal to a lot of people. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I think it is a good thing that no American that I know would ever be so dumb-ass as to believe some of the stuff the Donald is coming up with. edit: I mean like, if none of you went for 'trickle down' than surly none of this could have gettin in.... |

I personally think that Donnie Trump knows nearly nothing. On the Howard Stern show the whole Trump Clan got the answer to what is 6 X 17 = ? Wrong. When Donnie Trump says that the Chinese made up Global Warming, he meant that the Chinese are very Creative People, which is why he gets all of his crap made there. I won't be confused by all the spin that DFT is a Genius, because he doesn't pay taxes, but rather am convinced that Donnie is a Psychopath who would have his ex-wives killed if they ever spoke out as to his true nature. Some of the Deplorables think him a God, first there's Jesus and then Donnie Trump. Vote for DJT and you follow the Philippines with Duterte into the Bowels of Hell |

I personally think that Donnie Trump knows nearly nothing. WOW! Way to overload on the vitriol. Perhaps take a chill pill and you will be better able to convince others of your correctness. I for one don't think Trump is a Psychopath except that he has no real moral compass. I don't really think he is "stupid", either. There are all sorts of intelligence in uneducated people that are not quantifiable in scholastic terms. I have met Cons and Manipulators that were brilliant. Trump is, however, a trained and groomed Megalominiac. He was mentored for many years by a VERY evil person, Roy Cohn. The same guy who egged on Eugene McCarthy in the 50's and sat at his right hand during the famous senate hearings. The kind of training received from Roy Cohn took a special type of intelligence and a willingness to be ruthless. I don't think the misled and easily duped voters will get anyone a ticket "into the Bowles of Hell". I do feel, however, that your saying so brings into question everything else you are saying. |

I personally think that Donnie Trump knows nearly nothing. Coming from someone who thinks that Gary Johnson would make a great President I really don't have to say anything more. My vitriol is nothing compared to that of the sycophant/psychopath/rapist you're defending. Compared to you DJT may not be stupid, but there are many here who would beg to differ. edit. You apparently can't even copy and paste. |

Johnny in denying DJT being a psychopath you spelled out a sociopath. |

'psychopathy' Always a tough go, seeing how no one claims to know all that much about the subject in the first place.. |

Johnny in denying DJT being a psychopath you spelled out a sociopath. Quite so :) I'm no psychiatrist and the definitions are a bit blurry. The point I was trying to make is that Trump's particular temperment was cultivated and mentored by a very EVIL person, rather than being dismissable as a natural mental illness. It's obvious, (to me), that I don't know exactly the "psudo-science" terms I should be using. I will stand by the Megalominia diagnosis, however. |

Johnny in denying DJT being a psychopath you spelled out a sociopath. I suspect that a Psychopath is a Sociopath who has progressed further down the stream towards insanity. A Sociopath might say "Not Them". A Psychopath would say "Only ME", "Only I". |

If Trump is pandering to the uneducated like Major Kong suggests, then he has been doing quite alot of it over the last few years. Here are a few examples of negative tweets: "The U.S. cannot allow EBOLA infected people back. People that go to far away places to help out are great-but must suffer the consequences!" Those tweets seem to indicate he has no acceptance or understanding of science. However, USA Today reports: "Given his fondness for real estate, it would not be a stretch to imagine Trump championing a moon colony — a project that NASA believes it could achieve by the 2030s. Other mega projects, such as going to Mars and beyond, could also earn the Trump stamp of approval. More broadly, because a President Trump would likely want to keep America the world’s undisputed leader in science and technology, researchers could be on the receiving end of a funding bonanza." I would have to answer the thread by saying Trump is still an unknown. |

If Trump is pandering to the uneducated like Major Kong suggests, then he has been doing quite alot of it over the last few years. Well, since Trump became involved in politics in 1988 (as a potiential VP for Bush the Elder), and ran for President (though briefly) through the Reform Party in 2000, he has been a politician for quite some time (16+ years). Trump an unknown? Not so much. He is a politician... 'nuff said. https://youtu.be/iY57ErBkFFE #Texit Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016. Yeah, again I was mistaken by the title of the thread. When I said Trump was an unknown I ment it exactly in the context of what I was writing about; in reference to Science and what it would mean to Science to have him as President proposing budgets, promoting projects, etc. I was mislead by the Thread title "Donald Trump vs. Science". I did not think I was saying that as a candidate he was unknown. That would be silly. |
