Of course living in the suburbs of a big city we get mail and parcels straight to our door and never think twice about it.

Lucky you.
For nearly two weeks households in the Stockholm suburb Hjulsta have not received any mail.
PostNord has introduced a protective stop and think that they can not guarantee the mailmans security in the region, reports the local newspaper "Mitt i".
Meanwhile Hjulsta residents have to pick up their mail at PostNord's office in Rinkeby center - but only between the hours of seven and ten in the morning.
Old and sick have to walk for about 40 minutes to get to Rinkeby. Then equally long way back.

They have to walk almost a hour and a half round trip to get their mail?
Well lets pray that it was worth it. Going out to the postbox for nothing or junk mail just seems fruitless.

If FedEx or UPS or whomsoever deliver to the door in the USA, I am sure that they could deliver important letters as well if asked. Going to a mailbox 3 times a week just in case there "might" be something there is a ridiculous way to live.

I don't walk to my postbox. I drive the almost quarter mile to it.

What is wrong with an area where the safety of ordinary mail men are at risk? Is it a ghetto or something, or dangerous dogs on the loose??

Are you telling me that there is no community transport that could be organised, or kind neighbours offering a lift? Why can't they use a travelling post office? In which case if it is that sort of area perhaps the postal guys are justified in their boycott. Glad I don't live in your country if this is what goes on!

It's because we have an immigration "problem" here.
Media around the world are spreading news that we are in danger.
Even the US president Trump does.
Most people here doesn't feel any danger at all:)
But companies like PostNord does.
Why? It's called discrimination!

Getting too political in Cafe SETI...

Grrrr!

3-year-old gets poop-themed party of her dreams
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Many children would offer up the idea of "poop" for their birthday theme, but how many parents would follow through it?

At least one. And she went all the way.

Rebecca Marose of St. Louis, Missouri, and her daughter, Audrey, were planning Audrey's third birthday in October and the little girl was dead-set on a "poop"-themed party. So, Marose decided to just go with it. “I tried suggesting other themes, but she always insisted on poop,” Marose told the Huffington Post.

There were poop balloons, a "pin the poop" in the toilet game, and a poop-emoji pinata filled with Tootsie Rolls and Hershey's Kissess.

Bizarre incident was caught on camera by an eyewitness in St Petersburg

This is the bizarre moment a furious husband filled his wife's car with cement after she changed her surname to a supermarket chain in a bid to promote her store.

The Russian wanted to punish his wife when during a 'rough patch' in their marriage she named herself after supermarket Veniy where she works.

He decided to fill her car with cement because he knew how much she loved it, keeping it spotless inside and out.

Message 1862054 - Posted: 17 Apr 2017, 16:26:59 UTC - in response to Message 1862053.

I remember many years ago in the 1980's when one Christmas, my boss and I were taken to lunch by a Contractor at a swanky French restaurant in London's Covent Garden. The starter was fine but it was all "Nouvelle Cuisine" you know that sort of thing, looks very pretty on the plate, all nicely arranged with dribbles of this 'n that, two mouthfuls and it's gone, and you pay dearly for it.

My mistake was ordering steak for the main, because as we all know, the French can't or won't cook meat properly. To them well done is half raw and dripping with blood. I sent it back twice with a request to cook it properly. In the end to save any further embarrassment to our host I ordered a salad instead. Lord knows what the final bill was, but luckily we didn't have to pay it.

I think that French cooking is very much over rated, and I certainly haven't patronised it again. However I am told that French "Farmhouse" cooking is entirely different and rather nice.

I was once take to a place that refused to cook my fish. So I just did it at the table myself with the candle.

Isn't a blue steak one where the chef just waves a candle under it? I don't choose to be a cannibal.

I'm kind of the same way, but bison gets dried out and tough if it's cooked past Medium.

Sometimes it's fun at the airport too.
As at London Stansted Airport the other day.

I havn't seen this happen since the Andre "The Giant" days when wrestling rings had to be beefed up.

Ring collapses at Raw showdown.

I bet that hurt.

Cheers.

Maybe it's about time to finally ban all soccer fans (yes I know it's called football in some countries) from games once and for all.

A fan was thrown to his death inside a stadium.

Cheers.

Cheers.

Swedish officials had tried to get facial coverings at matches banned to prevent violence and hooliganism from rival fan groups.
