Not a lot that I have carried would fit under a drone, some would not fit into most aircraft. Road transport will always be needed with the men/women to do the work.[/quote] Less than 8 years to go, I may renew my licences for the following few years for the extra bit of pin money. Kevin

Shouldn't this talk of autos, trucks, and such, drone on in the Transportation 3 thread? This is the 'stick it' thread. So, just stick it, Vic. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once."

Less than 8 years to go, I may renew my licences for the following few years for the extra bit of pin money. 5 for me. Got a shock in the post back in January. A full report from the hospital. I've been given a clean bill of health & on forwarding that to DVSA, received their reply. Clear to continue driving. My tacho expires 8/18 & dCPC 6/20. Can't decide on whether or not to renew them. |

Less than 8 years to go, I may renew my licences for the following few years for the extra bit of pin money. Glad to hear, the medicals are always a worry, my next one is due in a couple of years. My tacho expires 8/18 & dCPC 6/20. Can't decide on whether or not to renew them. If you still feel fit and healthy why not, you should be able to recoup the costs in a couple of runs then everything else is a bonus. Kevin

Costs not an issue, but I'm sorely tempted :-) I'll be 62 & 64 when they need renewing. However going to Addenbrookes with the girls & hearing their comments... ..last one being: How do I do it without sat-nav or mapbooks?. A14 was shut so diverted to Cambridge another way. That got to me as it showed I miss being on the road :-( |

Not too familiar with the diverts around the A14, I normally only use that road as a divert around the M1, I am also getting a little rusty with some of the older diverts, been spending too much time running around with 16' multi-deckers so like to stay on regular routes. Can certainly understand that need. We were lucky, just as we got to the A14 slip road, it flashed up junction closed, so continued down the A1 to the A428 Bedford Cambridge road. In fact I found it nearly 10 minutes quicker than A1/A14/M11, so next trip down, going to check that out. |

Thank you. However, you've got your facts wrong. It seems that you are mixing 2 separate events years apart. Nothing to hide or worry about as the details were mentioned on both the hospital & PTSD thread. However to clear the air, I gave up driving to provide full time care for my partner as advised by her neurological consultant. I returned to working several years ago only to have that stopped due to a couple of strokes over the Xmas period 2015. Statistically speaking (according to the neurological consultant that dealt with me), lefties recover much better & faster from strokes with little effects (those that do recover of course). Even now, I often wonder as to why that is. As for a training role, too long in the tooth for that, besides happy with what I'm doing now. |

They were referring to left/right brain hemispheres not hands. |

In that case speak to neurologists, they believe differently. "In general, the left and right hemispheres of our brain process information in different ways. While we have a natural tendency towards one way of thinking, the two sides of our brain work together in our everyday lives." |

Guess this fits in this thread/topic quite well...... Just saw it on the news and said to my self "really?????" Sweaters for chickens: Retirees knit clothes for chilly poultry Sweaters for chickens? It sounds like a joke, but a plucky group of retirees in suburban Boston has hatched a plan to keep poultry warm during the New England winter. |

That's why legal writing can be so much fun. I had a 2 day trial that turn on a comma. It can really change the meaning of something.
