Not sure where to put this, so it's here!

Just been to the Pharmacy (in a large local Supermarket) and asked for Day and Night Nurse, as I have some Flu and a cold, and I want to get to sleep tonight (I haven't managed much over the last 2 nights, due to coughing and sniffling) Phrmacist (via an underling) said I couldn't have them due to the blood pressure tablets I'm taking ( Amlodopine and Elanapril Maleate though they didn't ask which tablets I am taking, just said no).

So I'll continue with Paracetamol and tonight supplement them with some Alcohol, probably JD, as I like that, just before I go to bed.
Happy Crunching,

Graham

Sometimes, Graham, self medication is the best solution.

The pharmacy is right Graham. Never mix over the counter drugs with high blood pressure medicine. Watch the booze also.

Wishing you well, Graham. :)

Booze is nasty when it comes to high blood pressure.
I won't go to the doctor for a checkup unless I have not been on a bender for at least a week.
As long as the whiskey is in control, the BP is OK,
But coming off of it, BP skyrockets as the body tries to sort things back to 'normal'.

Wishing you well too, and if you read one of your meds says booze not recommended.

IIRC you may be able to take benadryl, but get onto a drugs site and check known interactions.

Oh, many drugs have issues with grapefruit.

Ok I did it, I bought an LED lamp, a GE soft white, 7w(40w equivalent), 470 lumen, lamp for $3.59, which is a clearance sale price, the lamp has been on for nearly 1/2 an hour, and the lamp is barely warm. Code Red soda looks Orange under it. Still I might get 4 more of these soon, the 9w(60w equivalent) is $3.99. I won't be able to replace the 2 lamps over the sink as they are out of My reach, since My step ladder is busted, as I exceed its weight rating.

Light is an interesting thing one can do in one's life.
My daily drivers are now Cree 100w equiv led lights. Color temps are perfect, not perceptably different from incandescent.
The newest ones use 16.5 watts for the 100w of light they give out.
Amazing./

Does anybody know where I can find an LED equivalent 3-way 50/100/150 bulb? (For less than an arm and a leg)

I think I have seen them there, or Lowe's, but for a ridiculous price that negates the energy saving.

Did you look at Amazon?
They have a 30/70/100 for about $17.47 and a 50/100/150 for $23.99, mind you this is w/FREE shipping, w/a min $49.00 order.

I would want the 50/100/150. $23.99 is just a huge price to pay for that, though. I can still get the incandescent version for a buck or two. If I could see the math on it where the LED's longevity and lower power consumption makes sense, I'd go ahead and get it.

Santa Claus Look-Alike Kicked Out of Six Flags Over Texas

A North Texas grandfather closely resembling Santa Claus was kicked out of Six Flags Over Texas on Saturday.
"They told me I look too much like Santa Claus and they can't have it," said Jerry Henderson.
...
In a statement to NBC 5, Six Flags Over Texas spokeswoman Sharon Parker said: "We apologize that Mr. Henderson was inconvenienced, but the safety of our guests is always our highest priority. We cannot knowingly allow individuals who are not approved by the park to interact with small children in this capacity. Mr. Henderson was handing out candy to our younger guests and was dressed up as Santa which is in violation of our No Costume policy. When asked to change he refused and at that point was asked to leave."

I have a three way fluorescent in my bedside nightstand lamp. The bulb looks like a big B. I got it before compact fluorescents were being sold.

I don't like those CFL's. They take a few seconds to "warm up".

LOL....
"They said they thought it would freeze on its ascent and be cooked on re-entry. "

I don't think the pie would have survived if it descended fast enough on re-entry to cook it.................
