I was out early and of course like many others clouds deluxe, I even had a great spot to see it if it was going to happen.
now I need to take a power nap for lost time. LOL

Chicken Little wasn't here and the sky didn't fall in either. LOL

Just to make you envious over across the pond,I have taken a snapshot of our eclipse here in the States--right here in Tennessee.

I seen a few fireballs and a few meteors is all, way to fast to get them on camera.
Then the fog rolled in.
I got only about 1/2 hr total of seeing anything all 3 nights.

Seen a few streaks of light across the sky before. But seeing a satellite deorbit is a real light show in the sky.

Funny thing when I was UK Christmas while in the Army, I spent 2 weeks with my new sister-in-laws family in Yorkshire.
I got off the train and it was like I was in an old movie , it was dark and the steam and fog. Pretty much stayed that way the whole time there,
everone at that time was burning coal and it heavy in the air.

There is a small strip of dirt and grass between my driveway and my neighbor's
driveway. Some time back he planted some shrubs in that strip, but they were
invaded by insects and the cocoons all but killed the shrubs. I volunteered to
buy some boxwood shrubs to replace the dying plants and asked if he would be
willing to plant them. Instead he went out and bought some sage, which is a
very good choice for this area. It's native to Texas and is very drought resistant.
He only planted it a few months ago and it's already thriving. As for the difference
in the sizes of the bushes, I can only surmise that the one in front is biggest
because it gets the most sun throughout the day.







And I'm posting this because I think my pets are so cute. This is elderly Sadie
resting her head on young Oscar.



For those of you who might be wondering, my home is nowhere near Houston,
where the flooding occurred. In fact, I was on the very edge of the storm and only
saw about an inch or so of rain. Thank God.

If you ever are in the Yermo CA area, this is at the Calico Rd Exit(i15 fwy), The Yermo Travel Center, 26 gas pumps and some chargers for Tesla electric cars.

The Sundae looks like it will be mounted on top of the Water Tank soon. Sorry I didn't get out of the car, but it's 96F outside.

The store is looking good, I still have no idea when this place will open for business, October maybe?

Whilst I have still been taking pictures I have not been even looking at them recently.

Today however I went to the community garden. I decided to see if I could attract any squirrels, grey obviously, with some walnuts.

No squirrels but first was a beady eyed crow;



Then a Robin.



I will keep trying.

It had rained a bit overnight and I quite liked this picture.

In case any of you are in the Yermo CA area, Eddie World is going to open soon, when? I don't know.

My guess?

October 2017, maybe.

This at the Calico Rd exit, Ice Cream, Soda's, Pizza, Hot Sauce, Candy, etc, etc, etc will be sold there, along with Gasoline at 26 pumps, and for those that want some Juice, Tesla's can get their batteries refilled over 30 mins, which will give one another 170 miles I've read, there are 18 Tesla Super Chargers there.

And Eddie World is getting closer to opening, it's a sign from Eddie... Pics are from My old smart phone, I use it now as a camera only.

Eddie World is still working on their "Sewer System", yeah that is what they're calling it, it's still a hole in the ground, I missed getting a pic of that.

As I am currently staying in a hotel in Yarmouth. After I have eaten in the evening I have taken to having a stroll up the pier.

Last night I was surprised to find PS Waverley moored at the end of the pier.



As I think I mentioned last year she is the last ocean going paddle steamer in the world.

Because of all that has been going on I did not realise she was doing her "south coast" trips which always call at Yarmouth.

It was just getting dark as she finally pulled away.



Then swept in a wide circle to head back to Southampton.



It was quite dark and overcast and she was quite a way out so I am surprised that picture came out at all!

On what I hope was my last evening on the Isle of Wight for a while, I walked up the pier and took a couple of pictures of the sunset.



The clouds make it quite spectacular.

Then just as it set.



One thing I will miss is seeing the horizon, you have to be really high up here in South London to get the sort of view in these pictures.

Indeed it is a popular holiday destination. Quite a bit of sailing too

Also a place to retire to, as my dad, and his brother did.

Having lived there for a year the difference is quite amazing, the place full of holiday makers in the summer and amazingly quiet in winter.

In between the race rounds the Fastnet Rock off the southwest coast of Ireland.
