Shared video memory?

on a computer with 2x GTX 960?
does the AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor have an APU?

@Bogie: PC 8031776 "Abandoned" another 700 tasks on: 5 Jul 2016, 22:50:46 UTC

You might want to "Abort" all your tasks and then do a "Reset Project" for Seti@Home.

Have any Windows Updates installed recently?

Shared memory is a feature of some recent windows drivers for all GPUs - it is meant to be a way of speeding display things up, but if it is of any value for computational work I've no idea.

Is there away to find out if the drivers I am using are like that, and can it be disabled.Even win 8.1 same thing is happening, and that's with just running 2 tasks on each video card, yet 3 other pcs running win 8.1, running 4 task on each card works fine, I haven't did any win updates.

Still same problem, and is just with my 2 pcs other 3 running 1.6 used memory. I cant believe no one else is having this problem, isn't there a programmer or tech that can help me.

Hello Bogie,
In the S@H forums, there are only Boinc crunchers like you and I.
Those who offer some help are doing so as volunteers.

The threads in the Q&A section (where you have posted to) are "usually" for people who are new to the Seti@home project. Usually their problem/issue/question is fairly simple.

For more complex or ongoing issues, it is best to post in the regular S@H forum within the Number Crunching section.

You might be wondering: Why in the Number Crunching section?
The simple answer is: That's just where you're likely to get some help from the gurus who might have come across a similar issue!

Before you do, I recommend you try to write your issue in "less-American" English since for many (if not most) English is not necessarily their mother-tongue (1st language).

Also, include a link to this thread in your new thread .
If you're not familiar with the URL button (visible when you write a new thread or a response, just copy paste the following as text:
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=79855

After posting your new thread, you might want to come back to this thread to post the link to the new thread in case someone in the future finds this thread and have a similar issue.

Hope this is clear enough without being too long.
Cheers,
Rob :-)
