Well tonight I watched a very disturbing Doco called

The Russian Woodpecker . I think everyone needs to watch this .

It was made in 2015 and SBS here has done subtitles so I could understand what it was about .

I have watched a few Doco's about the Chernobyl disaster but I have never herd what I herd tonight and it's bad

Was Chernobyl a accident ?????????

This Doco was done by Ukraine people .

I understand now what is going on there and the West needs to understand too.

Chernobyl was not a accident but a deliberate act to cover up the failed 25 billion over the horizon radar built near the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant .

This thing is huge .

The woodpecker signal has now started again after 25 years of silence .

Darth mate , all this has been floting around on the net for years "Russian woodpecker" is / was a "numbers station" aint just the ussr have them theres loads and quite a few are still going usa ,mi5 , mi6 ,french ,polish etc no one really knows .
They were only trying to do what the British /usa tried to do on Orford ness back in the 60's /70's.
Think they must of re hashed all the info out there put a different spin and used the 30th anniversary of Chernobil to get sales / views .

The problem with the Chernobyl disaster was the chain of command.
If the boss had listened to his collegues the disaster would probably not happened.
The cause of the accident was a combination of flawed reactor design and operator error. The operators had closed several security system, which is completely at odds with the existing rules.

The test, they were told to do had clearly stated that it would be of 700-800 MW, and that they would shut down the reactor. They did instead test at 200 MW and had not turned off the reactor since the Chernobyl boss wanted reactor 4 was to be used sooner.

I would say Putin is now hoping a certain man wins the election , god help us all .

What could happen if it is prove the order to blow the reactor up came from Moscow , could Putin have even more trouble with Belarus if they thought mother Russia didn't give a Shite when it , the order came to blow it up .......

How would that play into Putin's plans , would it make it harder for him to have access to the north sea when or if Russia decides to invade Poland to have access to the north sea .

Near the end of it there is a interview with the chief engineer who says the blame lie's with the Atomic Energy authorities the lack of documentation where and when it was needed lead to the explosion

Cover ups !!!!

But was it just the cover up from the building of the reactor alone or was there a bigger cover up going on with the Duga 3 project ????

The head of the Atomic Energy was a man that also was in charge of the Duga 3 project and is the man that the Russian Woodpecker Doco says was behind the cover up and possibly the order to go ahead with the test even thou the day shift had refused to do it for safety reasons at that time .

They do interview the commissioner that was charged with investigating it and he says there was a cover up .

Watch it and you will see what I mean it is a very good Doco they do go through all the possibility's but end up with a cover up . You can and they did hide problems with the reactor but you can't cover up a project that cost billions and does not work at all and the Duga 3 project was about to have a final testing phase witch the higher ups knew was going to happen .

Yes, the Chernobyl reactor mishap was kinda bad. But it was not the only nuclear mishap that Russia/U.S.S.R had.

As to that d**med 'woodpecker', it used to REALLY p155 me the 7734 off (avid shortwave radio listener AND a amateur radio operator) when it started back in the late 1970's.

'<crackle><hiss><static>PECKPECKPECKPECKPECK'. Well S**T! Forget listening to that station tonight or working that band tonight... Grrrr....

And it wasn't at 10 kHz. It could show up anywhere between 5 MHz and 20 MHz, if memory serves....

It was obviously an OTH early-warning radar, and not unique... We had a few of them too.

AFAIK, the Duga-3 network worked. It would have been the height of stupidity to have caused the Chernobyl disaster to cover up the failure of Duga-3 to operate (since it DID operate), especially in light of the EASTERN node near the Russian Pacific coast.

They did get shut down around 3 years AFTER the Chernobyl disaster, in 1989, due to the budgetary shortfalls that led to the collapse of the USSR (caused in no small part by the cleanup of the Chernobyl disaster), and not reactivated by Russia due to advances in technology...

Early-warning satellites are much superior to OTH radar. OTH radar can pick up the warheads on their way down (unless they are VERY lucky). Satellite early-warning can pick them up on LAUNCH. OTH radar is expensive as well as being unnecessary.

But... go ahead and have fun with your little conspiracy theory of the week... although, if you really want to pursue conspiracy theories, at least pick one with a chance of being true... (psst! LBJ had JFK bumped off).

And this is news.... how? It is a known fact, in my case since Puto^Hin assumed power.

As to why it might be operational now... well... not as an OTH radar, but that equipment can have a number of other uses. 10 megawatts of power on the transmitter in the shortwave radio bands can cover a good chunk of the world. At first, I had a thought of jamming, but the internet has pretty much depopulated shortwave compared to what it once was... but the coverage area... my second (more reasoned) thought would be as a backup signaling network for military command/control, since China has demonstrated the capability to knock out satellites. Since the pulse characteristics were a result of a pseudo-random binary code they could conceivably be used to communicate data.

Yes, there are better ways for the Russkies to do this, but as you imply... why not reuse what is there?
