After Update: Install-Problem for BOINC/SETI (Win-7 x64)

(Sorry, if this was already written anywhere here...) After really many years with SETI on a variety of computers :-), since several weeks my BOINC/SETI-application is corrupt. This happened when trying to update (now v7.6.22 x64 is here, but it would never work..., think this is the mis-installed newer version, if I remember correctly). When the update won't work anymore, I had tried to uninstall and clean (registry) as detailled I could, to get a clean system for a reinstall of the actual version, but without success. What I do need now, is a precise instruction to come to a new installation, perpaps on a fully BOINC-clean system(?) and to start it all from scratch. My account-data do exist, and I want to go on again! :-) Would much appreciate a practical help from you...! |

When you try to install BOINC 7.6.22, do you get an error message? If so, what kind of error message do you get? |

So, download https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php BOINC 7.6.22 and try to run its installer. When you get an error message, write it down and tell us about it. |

Sorry for being late about this...! Now the results of my trials in short: Note: BOINC is/was not installed on C: because of space problems, but installed on D: (this had worked before without problems) - Deinstalled existing but not working version 7.6.22 - Additional deletions manually: d:\programdata\boinc (\slots and \projects had been empty) C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\BOINC C:\Users\boinc_master C:\Users\boinc_master.WIN-7 After boot and download of BOINC 7.6.22 again as suggested - New installation: with program dir: d:\programme\BOINC and data dir d:\programdata\BOINC\ - ... allowed for all users Then: - Old/new error on autostart: BOINC-Manager window says: cannot connect with a BOINC Client (And all menu options there not active; repeatedly same message... including no "Add project"-prompt This had been the result before, with several installations... - Service checked, is installed and working - ?Firewall? %programfiles%... for the two programs changed to literally path -> no change of symptoms - Checking the router (Fritzbox 7390): no hints So, all this is a repetition I have had before in several installation trials in Feb/March.
