6 years away, but does anyone really think that the Middle East situation will be resolved by then? Tents? What a lovely idea, An ISIS wet dream Won't happen, can't happen? Munich 72 should clear up that thought. |

M E T 1 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=76688&postid=1773080 Not good enough! Mainstream Islam & it's extremists all have one thing in common... Really? I guess that explains how nothing happened when Akram asked out Jessica (25% Syrian) in 2006 and she said no. She's married to an Anglo now and Akram recently married a Muslim woman. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

One of out how many? Is it any better than knowing how a few react badly to a no? You did say it is a problem among "mainstream" Muslims. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

& what do you call a few? I can think of at least 100,000 as can many others. |

One of out how many? And that's the wording that's getting a lot of pollies into trouble around the world these days as "mainstream" Muslims hate those extremists more than we do as those "extremists" kill more Muslims than any other group as well as twisting their true religious beliefs. Basically that line,"Mainstream Islam & it's extremists all have one thing in common", just shows up the ignorant and/or racist people out there and their total lack of understanding of what's actually going on. ;-) Cheers. |

Bit extreme don't you think? The problem is that many just look at the media & politicians. My views are based on grass roots, & that makes me a racist? As for Muslims killing other Muslims? Why is that do you think? Isn't it because they are of different sects? So isn't that in itself a NO? |

6 years away, but does anyone really think that the Middle East situation will be resolved by then? Will there be beer tents as well? Some pints and fotball supporters doesn't care of accomodation and security. |

6 years away, but does anyone really think that the Middle East situation will be resolved by then? Don't forget that they don't allow drinking in public. Just wonder how many lashes will be dished out :-) |

Bit extreme don't you think? Not at all as that's my view based on living and working in and with those grass roots. After over 40yrs of working with and living near Muslims 99% of them just want to live a happy, quiet, peaceful and productive life just like the rest of us. To many these days have base their attitudes on that other 1%. Maybe a little self reflection is needed by those who class all on the basis of a few bad apples. Cheers. |

As I have for the last 55 years with the added fact that I've lived with them. The problem is that those "few" hold sway on two fronts, the reign of power & the reign of terror. |

Seriously Sirius, many others like myself just find that statement as being nothing but the words that a racist person would use, no matter how much those who use it try to "sugar coat" it to make it look better and that makes those who use those words no better than those who belong to ISIS in the end. So sugar coat away to your heart's content, but the fact is that it won't change how those words are viewed by many of us. Now to get ready to have a beer with 1 of my Muslim mates and a few others at the pub. ;-) Cheers. |

Another one that is blind. So you're saying that all Islamic nations are right & the West is wrong? Sugar coat what? Sorry, friend, think you're the one that needs to reflect. |

Wiggo I have Muslim friends and neighbour and as you say most are honest good working people but would you say the same thing about say Bankstown in Sydney ? I can tell you from experience it's not like where you or I live in the country ... And you have to admit the middle East is a whole different kettle of fish . Would you say the same thing about Muslims in Indonesia ?? up North our neighbours ? |

Actually Glenn, the 40+yrs I was talking about was before I retired and I was living in Western Sydney for all that time. Just over 21 of those years I spent working for Sydney Buses along side others that had come from countries all over this world and many different religions. My country living only started after I retired. ;-) The Middle East is only the way that is today because far too many other countries over the centuries have stepped in and took control of it and screwed those who lived there so ultimately those countries are all to blame for its current state, but the Middle East doesn't just contain Muslims. So your statement is as bad as Sirius' in the end, you can't paint all with a broad brush as the chances are very good that you'll get some of that paint hitting on you too. You get bad in all races and religions, but in the end they are just a small minority when compared to the rest in reality. Cheers. |

Terrorist attacks in Brussels. A series of attacks has struck Brussels airport and the metro system, causing at least 13 deaths, Belgian media say. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35869254 Ten people are also reported to have been killed in the explosion at the metro station Maelbeek, according to the Belgian public service company, VTM. |

Terrorist attacks in Brussels. From: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35869254 Getting a bit close to some EU Government buildings, aren't they (200m to 300m, rough guess on my part)? Also, note the time on that third blast. |

Getting a bit close to some EU Government buildings, aren't they (200m to 300m, rough guess on my part)? Yes, very close. Many Members of the EU Parlament could see what happened outside the metro station from their window views. |

More than 30 people are believed to have been killed and dozens injured in attacks at Brussels international airport and a city metro station. How very sad and terrible. :-( |
