Check/post the Messages (e.g. the first ~100 lines) from Event Log (Ctrl+Shift+E)

I edited the xml for .25 for 4 WU and .1 to allow a core per task to feed the gpu's

".25 for 4 WU" means 4 WUs per GPU = 16 GPU tasks total
".1" (<avg_ncpus>0.1</avg_ncpus>) will not "allow a core per task", will allow a core per 10 tasks

I reinstalled my drivers and set the app_config

<avg_ncpus>0.04</avg_ncpus>
<max_ncpus>0.09</max_ncpus>

<type>ATI</type>
<count>0.1</count>

I also physically disconnected the crossx connector and disabled quadfire.

Not sure if will help but seti doesn't seem to have a problem detecting the gpu's?

I reinstalled my drivers

Which drivers?
ATI/AMD stopped adding support in their drivers for older hardware since Crimson 15.11, so for your GPUs you can at maximum install 15.7.1 to be eligible for OpenCL support. OpenCL is required to run work with the Lunatics applications.

That's what the error message states, that your GPUs only have CAL support (the previous old style doing calculations on ATI GPUs)
3/20/2016 3:41:34 AM | | CAL: ATI GPU 0: ATI Radeon HD 5800/5900 series (Cypress/Hemlock) (CAL version 1.4.1848, 1024MB, 991MB available, 4640 GFLOPS peak)
3/20/2016 3:41:34 AM | | CAL: ATI GPU 1: ATI Radeon HD 5800/5900 series (Cypress/Hemlock) (CAL version 1.4.1848, 1024MB, 991MB available, 4640 GFLOPS peak)
..

3/20/2016 3:41:34 AM | | App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it

If you were to run the stock applications, it would be possible that the server sent you the CAL application. But since you chose for the third party Lunatics applications, you must supply the correct videocard drivers, which includes OpenCL support. And all but for Catalysts 13.1 which has a compiler bug.

<type>ATI</type>
<count>0.1</count>

Do you know that 0.1 here means you want to run 10 tasks per GPU?!

(After you install driver with OpenCL GPU support) First try 1 task/GPU (<count>1</count>)
Then, if all is good, you may try if 2 tasks (0.5) or 3 tasks (0.33) give more tasks/day done. (tasks/day is not the proper measure but lets call for "more work done per day")
I doubt more than 3 tasks/GPU will be effective

For older drivers you may use this page (list, info, links):
http://www.hal6000.com/seti/boinc_ati_gpu_cheat_sheet.htm

P.S.
I don't see any CAL application (Brook) in the current list:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/apps.php

I'm running driver Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta

I'm not sure whitch driver to download from the page?

-I'll try 15.7
I'm trying to run 2 tasks per card.

I meant to put in 1, not .1 to put it back to default.

Now I'm stuck 15.7 and 15.7.1 both fail to install and I end up with driver

15.201.1151.1008-151104a-296217E

Will 15.2 work with open CL?

Well In Cat control panel it says i'm running 15.201.1151.1008-151104a-296217E

I tried installing 14.1 but it failed to install but my account shows it didn't?

[4] AMD ATI Radeon HD 5800/5900 series (Cypress/Hemlock) (1024MB) driver: 1.4.1848 OpenCL: 1.2

Is there an easy program to download to test if Open CL is working?

I have no clue what to do?

I don't even know if I set up lunatic correctly.

I cant find a guide on a 7 year old gpu.

Ugh

And now it looks like seti doesn't want to send me any more gpu tasks because The damn thing aborted to many.

Open CL is definitely working now

I have disconnected the CrossX bridge from the gpu's

Driver Packaging Version 15.201.1151.1008-151104a-296217E

Seti isn't sending me any gpu work, I assume because so many tasks were aborted?

I just hope this works.

Edit - 5 Open CL devices are being detected on my system now.
1: Cypress
----------> First dual gpu card
2: Cypress

3: Cypress
----------> Second dual gpu card
4: Cypress

5: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor

If this is the computer you are talking about, here is the link to AMD for the driver (v15.7.1).

I cant find a guide on a 7 year old gpu.

Here is a link to view and download a copy of the User Manual.

Thank you, but I cant seem to get the 15.7.1 driver installed.

Or any driver now for that matter, every single one fails with the same error.

Thank you for the manual on the gpu.

WOOOOOW

Well after my 50th driver uninstall download and reinstall it FINALLY worked

Now Seti should be able to use the gpu, I just need a task to test.

Thank you for the manual on the gpu.

If you're interested, here is the spec sheet on that card.

Thank you, but I cant seem to get the 15.7.1 driver installed.

Or any driver now for that matter, every single one fails with the same error.

Just spit-ballin', but maybe there is some conflict with Win10 and those drivers? Or perhaps due to the multiple uninstall/install of drivers there are remnants that weren't completely uninstalled which are preventing any further driver installation. I remember reading one of these threads and someone provided a link to a program that completely removes video drivers. I'm fairly certain that it is Display Driver Uninstaller. From this forum, it is recommended that it be used in Safe Mode. There are also the AMD Clean Uninstall Utility, and Driver Sweeper. However, you may want to get input from someone more familiar with this software prior to using it.

EDIT:
You posted while I composed. Maybe you could use this for future reference.

Your 100% right, it was the old driver remnants that was messing with it.

I uninstalled in safe mode, then deleted all the files under C/amd/ and reinstalled 15.7.1 and poof just like magic they installed just fine.

Now hopefully with the supported drivers BOINC will stop aborting the tasks.

I ran an Open CL test and every thing seems to work, if it fails again and aborts the tasks i'll dump my log on here again.

My Nvidia 980 was 10000 times easier to get it set up.

I'm running .33 and allowing up to a core a task and ive been crunching away less than 20 minutes a WU X 3.

I'm hoping to have 4 WU total with 2 on each card on my 5970's

Well it's working good now.

I want to dedicate a core per task how do I edit the app_config for this?

Like this?

<app_name>astropulse_v7</app_name>

<version_num>709</version_num>

<platform>windows_x86_64</platform>

<avg_ncpus>1.0</avg_ncpus>

<max_ncpus>1.0</max_ncpus>

<plan_class>opencl_ati_100</plan_class>

I don't see all these tags listed in the wiki:
app_config.xml

"Note: The sections in square brackets '[foo/]' are optional"

You can use one of 2 formats:
<app_config>
    <app>
      <name>astropulse_v7</name>
      <gpu_versions>
          <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
          <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
      </gpu_versions>
    </app>
    <app>
      <name>setiathome_v8</name>
      <gpu_versions>
          <gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>
          <cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>
      </gpu_versions>
    </app>
</app_config>

<app_config>
   <app_version>
       <app_name>astropulse_v7</app_name>
       <ngpus>1</ngpus>
       <avg_ncpus>1</avg_ncpus>
   </app_version>
   <app_version>
       <app_name>setiathome_v8</app_name>
       <ngpus>1</ngpus>
       <avg_ncpus>1</avg_ncpus>
   </app_version>
</app_config>

My notes:
1) <max_concurrent>XX</max_concurrent> is not in square brackets but is optional

2) <gpu_usage> == <ngpus>
<cpu_usage> == <avg_ncpus>

(I don't know why they use different tags for the same purpose for the two formats)

3) no need to specify plan_class, version_num, platform - some of them are not even in the spec. And even if they are - if you specify them and they change in the future the app_config.xml will stop working (the section will be ignored)

P.S.
Which exact driver (Catalyst) do you use now?
e.g. give link, maybe this?:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/previous/detail?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064&rev=15.7.1

The page only lists "Display Driver" and not OpenCL but maybe it's included despite not listed.

From your tasks:
Version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1800.11)

And I don't see "1800.11" in "OCL" column so it looks like it is some Catalyst 15.7.1+ (but not Catalyst 15.11)

The
gpu_usage>1</gpu_usage>

line can be changed to increase the number of tasks being run on each GPU
replacing "1" with 0.5 will give you two tasks
replacing "1" with 0.33 will give you three tasks
DO NOT make the mistake of trying "2", or "3" - I can tell you it causes mayhem :-(

The
<cpu_usage>1</cpu_usage>

line sets a target for CPU usage, not a value - if a task needs more, up to a maximum of one CPU core, it will take it.
For AMD processors the default of 0.04 for a SETI@Home v8 task is a bit low, I've found the best value is in the range 0.075 to 0.125 depending on the system.
Again, for AMD processors running AstroPulse the value needs to be higher, the range appears to be 0.75 to 1.0
For Intel processors the values appear to be a bit lower. But starting with BilBG's one for everything is a good safe-side situation.
