Hi All can someone shed some light on a issue with one of my m/c's ID: 7581424 i'm having strange communication issues with the server on this m/c it wont upload and downloads fail. i now have over 120 wu's waiting to upload but the progress in the transfers tab says either "upload pending (project back off )" or "upload retry (project back off )" with a time at start and the end of the brackets. i have even copied the Bonic folder from the windows program data folder and tried it on another pc(which was working ok) with the same results. i don't want to loose the data if i can. Any ideas? the event log is below 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | cc_config.xml not found - using defaults 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Starting BOINC client version 7.6.22 for windows_x86_64 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Libraries: libcurl/7.45.0 OpenSSL/1.0.2d zlib/1.2.8 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Running under account Admin 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 8400GS (driver version 340.52, CUDA version 6.5, compute capability 1.2, 512MB, 391MB available, 59 GFLOPS peak) 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce 8400GS (driver version 340.52, device version OpenCL 1.0 CUDA, 512MB, 391MB available, 59 GFLOPS peak) 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Host name: C6011-Wall 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz [Family 6 Model 30 Stepping 5] 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Processor features: fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss htt tm pni ssse3 cx16 sse4_1 sse4_2 popcnt syscall nx lm vmx smx tm2 pbe 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Professional x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Memory: 2.75 GB physical, 6.75 GB virtual 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Disk: 50.00 GB total, 22.33 GB free 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Local time is UTC +0 hours 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | SETI@home | Found app_config.xml 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | Einstein@Home | URL http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Looking quickly at your log dump I see that this problem not only affects SETI, but (probably) also Einstein@Home - I've dragged out the lines that to me look suspicious. 17/03/2016 12:44:58 | Einstein@Home | Giving up on download of hsgamma_FGRPB1_1.00_windows_intelx86.exe: permanent HTTP error My first guess would be that the PC in question is having some issues either connecting to the rest of the world, or that its firewall is being a bit too frisky. Another thing is, I've seen this as a short term problem when trying to upload a very large number of finished tasks from one of my crunchers. Sometimes a "forced retry" works from the BOINC manager advanced screen, sometimes it doesn't. 17/03/2016 12:44:56 | | Using HTTP proxy swanlb001:8080 The problem should be the proxy, can't you avoid it? (i.e. use direct connection) Two ideas to try: - see if VPN will help to Upload/Download (SecurityKISS is free for 300 MB/day, you only select server, no any complicated Settings) https://www.securitykiss.com/ - set HTTP 1.0 in cc_config.xml <http_1_0>0|1</http_1_0> Set this flag to use HTTP 1.0 instead of 1.1 (this may be needed with some proxies). cc_config.xml <cc_config> <log_flags> </log_flags> <options> <http_1_0>1</http_1_0> </options> </cc_config> Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

this fault is on a m/c at work but has been fine for about a year until 3rd march so I copied the Bonic folder out of c:/program data to my laptop and exchanged it for the same folder on there tried over 4g and at home, and get the same problem? Please set <http_debug> in cc_config.xml and let it make a round of communications, then post that log part (CTRL+SHIFT+E). <cc_config> <log_flags> <http_debug>1</http_debug> </log_flags> <cc_config> This flag can also be set through the Event Log options window in Advanced view->Options in BOINC 7.6.22 |
