There are many users with Hawaii GPUs. If they are R9 290, R9 290X, R9 390, or R9 390X is not easy to know

what drivers are you using?? and have you had any luck with multiple WU's per gpu?? if so which drivers?? 14.4 is the only one out of ALL amd drivers for past few years i can get to work with more then 1 WU per gpu without crashing in 2mins

i tried vulkan beta for only about a week, but it doesn't seem that different from crimson

i don't see how vulkan drivers would help this project if there are no apps written for it

the main reason i got rid of vulkan beta is because it doesn't include catalyst control center, so there's no way for me to turn off crossfire

that way i understood vulkan is: part of it is kinda like an add-on to OpenCL .helps it run more efficiently and of course its own api.

what i read was that it's a complement to opengl, which is not the same thing thing as opencl

i don't have anything against opengl, but it's been quite a while since i would blow off steam in my spare time by playing quake

Vulkan is just a separate API that is more related to OpenGL.
Saying Vulkan improves OpenCL performance is like saying updating DirectX will make OpenCL work better. The Vulkan driver includes a newer OpenCL component. Which should be the main cause of any differences. Other than changes to the base driver.

i don't really care about what the problem is, it would be nice if it was fixed, but i gave up on that a long ago

if you are okay on 14.4, i would hope you don't stress out hoping for a fix that doesn't show any signs of happening soon
