Kitties are all in with Lunatics on 9 rigs.....
Since this morning, 517 pending, 3 inconclusive, 109 valid, invalids nought, errors nought.

Looking good here so far in the kitty camp!!!

Thanks guys!!!!! My two NVIDIA cards are busy again!!! :-)

Surprisingly, my Antivirus program left the new v8 Units alone... It flagged EVERY Unit from EVERY Project; but, kindly left v8 8.00 CUDA50 work completely alone to crunch freely. :-)

Lunatics 0.44 seems to be working flawlessly for me. I even upgraded BOINC on both systems to 7.6.22, and that too seems to be fine. :-)

Thanks again, greatly appreciate all your efforts. :-)

About Antivirus,

I excluded my BOINC folder and my TThrottle folded from scanning, NOT scanning all those read/writes has greatly increased my system stability, and probably performance.

About Antivirus,

I excluded my BOINC folder and my TThrottle folded from scanning, NOT scanning all those read/writes has greatly increased my system stability, and probably performance.

Unfortunately, the Antivirus program I have does NOT allow Folder/App Exclusions. It uses a Whitelist instead of a Blacklist... All files get scanned. I have set Prompt for override, so that I can flag the WUs and Lunatics as "Always Allow". It just means that when something new comes out, work wise, I have to be at the computer to catch the Flag Alert and click "Always Allow"...

ALL the Beta v8 work got flagged. Why Main v8 and Lunatics didn't is a pleasant surprise to me.

After installing the client reports missing files, but I am crunching away normally.

In order to clear out any old junk, I detached/reattached to clear the folder when v8 GPU client was released and ran stock with no app_info.xml until installing Lunatics 0.44, so nothing I did (I think!) But it seems to be working.

Edit: After quitting/restarting the client (which I am doing often tweaking app_info) seems to have gone away.

Any chance of seeing a typical example of an app_config.xml for multiple workunits, I will have 6 machines to alter.

NB- I run MB only and are giving 3 at a time a go.
Put it in the same directory as app_info.xml
For me
C:\Programdata\BOINC\Projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu

Once there, just select Options, Read config files from the BOINC Manager menu & it's done.

<app_config>
<app>
<name>setiathome_v8</name>
<gpu_versions>
<gpu_usage>0.30</gpu_usage>
<cpu_usage>0.04</cpu_usage>
</gpu_versions>
</app>
</app_config>

Because of some slight gremlins with the new Lunatics software, we are distributing the installer as a .zip file this time - you will have to extract the executable file before running it. Sorry about that.

No need to sorry - I feel a .zip file have some advantages:
- Less probability that some bad Antivirus will flag (quarantine) a .zip file
- If partial (unfinished) Download - it will be impossible to extract and run broken .exe
- The extracted .exe file will have the same date for everybody - no matter when the .zip is Downloaded
- The .exe file will have the proper filename casing (Lunatics_Win32_v0.44_setup.exe) (on Mike's site the filenames are always lowercase (lunatics_win32_v0.44_setup.exe) which I don't like for aesthetic and easy-read reasons)
- You can put some other files in the .zip - e.g. ReadMe, screenshots from the installer, MD5 checksums

Google chrome automatically flags it as an unsafe site as it says there isn't enough downloads from it to verify that it is safe.

Just have to tell it to ignore that and download anyway.

I experienced that yesterday, too. I was the third download of the 64-bit version.

Many thanks Grant I'll try that over the weekend. I'm assuming that stopping and re-staring Boinc would have the same effect as read options?

Yep.
One of the things I like about app_config v app_info is that it isn't necessary to exit & restart; but it's still a viable option.

...based upon how many instances the person feels is appropriate for their particular setup?

In theory if Richard's installer can modify an app_info.xml file, it should in theory be able to alter an app_config.xml as well, they are the same kind of files.

It's the user input which is the hard part - we haven't quite got that telepathy module working yet. Most of the effort in that kind of programming goes into the user interface, and we're already pretty cluttered.

Of course you could use find & replace if your word processor supports it.

Don't use a word processor, just plain old Notepad (or its posh cousin, Notepad++). Both have find & replace, including a 'replace all' button - that's what I use to create the updated AIstub files in the first place.

FAR with embedded editor here. And you will never feel lost in Explorer's folders since Norton Commander times :)
Also, FAR and MidnightCommander very similar in their interface that allows to find something familiar in Linux world too.

A big 'Thank you alot!' to all who were/are involved.

Windows 8.1 x64, GT730, 347.52 driver will work with all nVIDIA apps which are included in the 0.44 Installer?

Just SAHv8 CUDA or also OpenCL app is included for nVIDIA VGA cards?

Thanks.

(I ask before I start to use the apps from the Installer)

OK, MB filenames should start 'MB8' - sorry about that. Will correct in UI source while I remember.

(I was concentrating on editing the r number at the end of the line)

That combination should be fine for all included applications.

For Multibeam, only CUDA applications are included: choose cuda50 for that card.

There is an OpenCL application for Astropulse, but it doesn't have the same driver restriction as OpenCL for MB.

From first post:
Cuda 2.3: PreFermi - NOT to be used on Fermi/Kepler/Maxwell
Cuda 3.2: mixed systems
Cuda 4.2: Fermi
Cuda 5.0: Kepler/Maxwell

Just SAHv8 CUDA or also OpenCL app is included for nVIDIA VGA cards?

You can see by yourself by opening the Lunatics_Win64_v0.44_setup.exe with 7-Zip
- this way I see it is NOT included (No MB8 OpenCL for nVIDIA)
