The NVIDIA linux version currently in beta produces correct results, but produces lag in the display. It wouldn't be a problem if the user is has "only use GPU while idle" selected and if BOINC's idle detection always worked on linux.

Hi

I just found out about this thread (strangely my boinc manager decided only to show me the topic in the notification tab today...) and I have a Radeon HD 4850 on late 2009 iMac.

What is the status of the beta ? did anything good came out ? is there / will there be a compatible app for OpenCL on such Mac + GPU ?

Thanks

OK, understood. Just joined seti beta(only for GPU units)and I hope to assist.
So far seems ok, with no unreasonable lag, or at least not worse than the one ver7 had anyway. I hope soon to see it here also

Running the Seti@home as well as Seti@HomeBeta on my Android now. Both projects have completed several tasks. The Seti@HomeBeta not only shows my Android phone as a computer on my account as well as my tasks and gives me credit for them. As of yet Seti@Home still does not show my Android as a computer on my account, but I can not find single task completed or credit given for the Android. All user information, passwords and relevant info is correct for both accounts. So why is the Android app not giving me any credit to my Seti@Home account?

It seems you may have somehow created a new account

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=10280650

This would happen if you used a different email address (even one with a spelling error if you happened to attach as "New Account")

I used the same email address with no spelling errors. It attached to Seti@Home Beta perfectly. So if a new account was created it was done by the program not by me.

I would like to know how to get them linked. Since Seti@Home Beta used the exact same email address and properly attached then there is a flaw in properly attaching to Seti@Home when using the Android app.

It is not possible to link them :-(
When you joined SETI with the Android device did you join as a "returning user" or as a new user? It is possible that doing the first wold create a new account, and so that device is now out on a limb.
On that device try detaching from the project, remove all traces of SETI, and then re-attach making sure you are a returning user. I'm not sure this will work, but its got a chance.

Did you add seti@home as a project to the phone?

You have Volunteer tester so Beta and Main have synced the account via e-mail address.

I joined as a returning user. I've tried detaching and it won't link up to my original account. I am going to delete the app and try again.

____________

Yes I attached to both using the phone. My Beta account shows my phone as a computer. The main however created a new account for some reason???

Deleting the App worked this time. Not sure why it created a new account for me in the first place. Suck that even the small amount of work it did is lost credit for me.

Nope used the same email to add both. Used the same email to re-add. I could type it blindfolded to save my life if needed. This email has no upper lower cases to worry about. I've had this email long enough that Microsoft probably thinks I'm a dinosaur for not updating it each time they've change their service to another dot com address. Which is at least three different times that I recall.
