I encouter problems with astropulse opencl_intel_gpu_102. Astropulse v7.09. The task(s) do(es) not have any progress anymore. Although task mentioned being in execution mode, the status locks on a certain fixed percentage (e.g. 33.333 %). I am using the latest available version of BOINC on windows 10 64 bits. Note: It is not happening for all opencl tasks (about 50 % of the cases). The only way to remove the "hanging" task is by aborting the task. |

Are you sure it's hanging? The progress on Astropulse tasks goes in jumps and bumps, not in a continuous percentage count. |

The only way to remove the "hanging" task is by aborting the task. And which other "ways" did you try? E.g. Snooze GPU (for a moment - to Restart the task/app), Restart computer (to reload drivers - sometimes they may be in unstable state) You may try to ask in Number Crunching which is the best Intel driver for your Intel HD Graphics 4600 (some Intel drivers are not good but I don't know the details) Â ![]() ![]() Â |

I know that astropulse jumps. The task was hanging for more than a week at the same percentage, while the computer is running for around 8 hrs/day. Note: the task indicates it was running, but the percentage of progress did not change. |

I tried all kind of options. Restart computer, restart the task etc. etc. The suggestion that I am not using the best intel driver could be true. Windows 10 is in control of the drivers being installed. I have an older ubuntu machine (also intel) with no problems sofar with astropulse. |

For completeness regarding the intel driver: I am using version number: 10.18.15.4256 see: https://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/2015/08/04/new-intel-iris-iris-pro-and-hd-graphics-production-driver-for-windows-10-64-bit If there is a problem with this driver and astropulse opencl, I have no idea?? |

Try either https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23886 or http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23885/a08/win64_153322.zip The first is from a (Windows 8/8.1) development release, the second is a direct download link. Both link to driver 10.18.10.3621 which gives good results on Intel HD 4600 devices. |

Try either https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23886 or http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23885/a08/win64_153322.zip Jord , thanks for the links. I have to investigate if I can use these drivers, because of possible conflicting requirements of other programs on the computer. At the other hand if the default windows 10 intel drivers are perhaps not suitable for astropulse implies further development. Peter |
