I got some very sad news this morning. The doctor (vet) called and told me that
Sissy had passed away sometime last night. I guess her little body was just too
weak to fight off the virus. I don't want her body to end up in a landfill, so
I am having her cremated and her ashes will be scattered. (I don't like to bury
my pets in the back yard because I will probably move away in the future and I'd
feel weird about leaving them here.)

I called the clinic a few hours later to talk about the bill. I was told my bill
is currently just under $1200.00. For that reason I have increase my GoFundMe to
that amount. I know some of you have already donated and I sincerely thank you
for that. I'd be lost without you. I also thank you for your thoughts and
prayers.

If you can help with the vet bill, then thank you. If not, that's okay, too.

It's a mystery to us, too, but I think sometimes people are oblivious to this sort of thing for whatever reason. I guess it's kind of like their child, and they don't hear it the same way it sounds to everybody else.

It did - that's why they kicked it out when they got home.

I don't understand people who let their dogs bark all day long in the back yard. It's terribly insensitive to the neighbors.

Had some neighbours who had a dog like that. When they were out it would bark constantly in the house, when they were home it would bark constantly in the garden. How it didn't drive them up the wall eludes me.

I had the same problem with my next door neighbors(luckily renters who moved in December), I love most dogs except for the frantic little ankle biter types. The two next door would bark when the wind blew and bark when it stopped......I bought a little device off the internet (much like Grant built) about the size of a handheld garage door opener. When the little buggers got intolerable I'd give them a dose of the old 'ultrasound'. It's like chalk on a blackboard to some breeds but barely affects others.

Gordon I had that problem in Phoenix which I took care of. I made a speaker with a high pitch you can't hear and it shut up the dog every time, LOL

Also in New Mexico we had black birds that come every night in the winter that drove me nuts, (I mean like 1000's).

Speaking of black birds, there is a flock (or two) of black birds that comes
around occasionally. They are mostly grackles, but I think there might be
other "black" birds in the same group - some starlings and maybe some cowbirds.
I absolutely love the sound they make as a group. If I could record it I would
play it whenever I want to relax. It just really soothes me. I'd put food out
for them to encourage them to come and stay, but there are too many cats in
the neighborhood.

The only "black" birds around here are Crow. And a lot of them.

Feed them. They like unsalted peanuts quite a bit. They are also fans of sunflower seeds.

Crows are very beautiful and very smart. We have a small flock that frequents our backyard (about 9 crows) and I have grown exceptionally fond of these birds. I know they are a bit noisy, but I don't mind that at all.

As long the flock is small it's alright.
But here in the autumn the flock could be hundreds of them.
Walking down the street and suddenly when the crows decides to fly all together from trees and rooftops is quite scary.
Yes, almost Hitchcock like.

7.4 Billion is the correct amount of people living on Earth according to a Bing search that I did...
......and that's all you took from that post?

I stated the correct number of people living on Earth, that was My intention.

This is so much of a WTF? that I can't even think of a title for it.

Raccoons are very good climbers, but I cannot imagine how that raccoon managed to climb up that slippery pole!!! If it were a wooden telephone pole, I would argue that the raccoon got up there and no doubt can get down on its own. A metal pole, however, seems like much more of a challenge to me. What a freaky story.

Sissy is still with the vet this weekend. She was eating, but it was making
her nauseous. The vet said she needed to stay and be monitored over the
weekend. I hope she remembers us when she finally does get to come home. I was
going to go visit her, but decided not to when they told me that I couldn't
take Sonny. (He really misses Sissy.) Sissy is quarantined in an area designed
for very contagious animals. So, in a nutshell, she's still not well enough
to come home, and I'll call again on Monday morning.

Thank you all again for your kind thoughts, prayers, and financial help.
