Hi, In the last several days I have noticed that my computer isn't downloading any new WUs. It finished up the last of my CPU units several days ago, and I only have about 10 or so Cuda units to go before everything is done. I checked the message log in my BOINC manager and I assume the problem has something to do with these messages: **Begin Paste Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | Message from server: Unknown app name setiathome_enhanced in app_info.xml Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | Message from server: Unknown app name setiathome_enhanced in app_info.xml Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | Message from server: Unknown app name astropulse_v6 in app_info.xml Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | Message from server: Unknown app name astropulse_v6 in app_info.xml Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | No tasks sent Sat 09 Jan 2016 09:53:31 AM EST | SETI@home | Message from server: Your app_info.xml file doesn't have a usable version of SETI@home v8. **End Paste I did a little checking and I see that BOINC V8 has recently been released. I am running optimized apps, and I don't see anything on the lunatics site for that, maybe I just missed it. What do I need to do to get going again? Thanks |

There's a thread in "Number Crunching" which give you information on what to do - http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=78716 Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Thanks Rob, but I already read that one and I am unclear if the link that is given there is for an optimized app or not. I'm running on Linux and want to run Cuda apps. Some time ago, I was told that that meant I had to run optimized apps. Does the link in that post point to an optimized app? Jon |

These are the STOCK apps - just now they are all that are available. It does/will get updated as more apps satisfactorily complete testing. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Thanks again Rob. This brings up another confusing point. I have applications installed that have been working fine and no changes have been made to my computer set up. Why are no new WUs being downloaded? Are the WUs that are generated specific to a given version of SETI? If so, what purpose does that serve? Thanks in advance. Jon |

No new work "v7" work is being generated. There may be the odd re-send for a few more weeks. New work is "v8", and that can only be run on a "v8" app. (Noting that AstroPulse has its own version number, and remains at AstroPulse v7.) (Also remember the current apps will run under whatever version of BOINC you have - BOINC only provides the environment for the apps to run in.) If I'm running optimized apps, am I able to use the stock Seti@home V8 that you pointed to earlier? And if not, then I guess I'm out of luck, WU-wise until that gets optimized, right? |

Just now the only official v8 apps are "stock", they will run if you follow the instructions in that thread. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
