Down under we seem to be in another outlaw bikie turf war as Bandidos, Comancheroes and Nomads have been taking shots at each other with stolen or U.S. smuggled firearms being involved and several deaths have now been racked up over the last few weeks. :-(

Payback?

Sadly, dangerously, guns empower any idiot to do deadly despicable acts all too easily and all too callously.

Let this example be a painful reminder:

LA police shooting: Two officers 'critically injured' after being shot in car

Regardless of whatever 'motive', guns give no defense.

People continue to misuse guns.

Educate the people better? Get rid of the guns? Both?

Stay safe!

I bet that surprised the "Mighty Whitey" and his mates, I wonder if he got his vote in beforehand.

But sadly I can't say that I'm surprised over the incident and I can only see things getting worse as the election gets closer. :-(

Independent - NRA accuses its own executives of using funds to enrich themselves in new tax filing
The National Rifle Association, a non-profit gun advocacy group, accused its executives of improperly using the organization’s funds for personal enrichment, according to a tax return obtained by the Washington Post.

Six top officials, including chief executive Wayne LaPierre, used NRA funds for “excessive benefits,” according to the 2019 document, which also says the allegations are still under review.

Earlier this year, the attorney general of New York filed a lawsuit accusing NRA leadership of wide-ranging financial misconduct and called for dissolving the group.

The tax document says that in 2019 the NRA became aware of “a significant diversion of its assets.” It reportedly says various executives “improperly” used NRA funds, charged expenses that were “not appropriate," and flew first class without authorization.

"The NRA is committed to strict compliance with its accounting controls and good-governance practices,” Charles Cotton, an NRA vice president, told the Post.

The filing also says Mr LaPierre, who has led the group for nearly four decades, “corrected” his financial irregularities and reimbursed the NRA nearly $300,00 between 2015 and 2019.

see the full text below.
from an 1850 speech written by philosophers Karl Marx and Frederick Engels for the Communist League in London.
The key difference here is that Marx and Engels were discussing the right to bear arms as related to workers’ rights to organize. The section in full (emphasis ours) reads:

To be able forcefully and threateningly to oppose this party, whose betrayal of the workers will begin with the very first hour of victory, the workers must be armed and organized. The whole proletariat must be armed at once with muskets, rifles, cannon and ammunition, and the revival of the old-style citizens’ militia, directed against the workers, must be opposed. Where the formation of this militia cannot be prevented, the workers must try to organize themselves independently as a proletarian guard, with elected leaders and with their own elected general staff; they must try to place themselves not under the orders of the state authority but of the revolutionary local councils set up by the workers. Where the workers are employed by the state, they must arm and organize themselves into special corps with elected leaders, or as a part of the proletarian guard. Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. The destruction of the bourgeois democrats’ influence over the workers, and the enforcement of conditions which will compromise the rule of bourgeois democracy, which is for the moment inevitable, and make it as difficult as possible – these are the main points which the proletariat and therefore the League must keep in mind during and after the approaching uprising.

Now this is 1 terrorist organisation that really needs to be cremated.

NRA seeks bankruptcy protection, plans move from New York to Texas.

It's not just a terrorist organisation it's totally corrupt as well.

Further on the U.S.'s #1 criminal terrorist group legal woes.

Judge refuses to dismiss New York AG's lawsuit against NRA.

NEW YORK — State Attorney General Tish James’ lawsuit seeking to dissolve the National Rifle Association can move forward, a state judge ruled Thursday.

Judge Joel Cohen denied the NRA’s motions to dismiss the case, pause it or transfer it to a different court.

The attorney general filed the suit in state court in August, seeking to put the NRA out of business, charging that its leaders misused funds and engaged in self-dealing.

The NRA argued that the case should be tossed because it belongs in federal, not state court, and that it should be heard in Albany instead of Manhattan.

The judge rejected all of those requests.

“The attorney general is the chief law enforcement of the state of New York. She is enforcing a New York state statute,” Cohen said at a virtual court hearing. “It would be inappropriate in these circumstances to find that the attorney general cannot pursue her claims in state court just because one of the defendants prefers to proceed in federal court.”

Must be getting hungry in L.A.

I note the reward is for the dogs, not her employee who was shot.
