It's all very well posting links, but please make sure they don't required special permissions to see them:

That may not be verifiable without testing any posted US URLs through a VPN, as this site would appear to be doing as so many other US sites are by blocking all European traffic to avoid GDPR hassles.

Accepting the above, but other sites get around this by not being aggressive in the use of cookies, or post a "user friendly" message along the the line "This page is not available in your region".
This is symptomatic of very lazy and arrogant web site developers who cannot do their job properly.

Yep. No problems.

BTW it isn't the web developers, it is the lawyers! The lawyers who have no clue about how the law works in each of the EU countries and what will or won't be permitted. Then they tell the client the price tag to hire an overseas law firm that does have the experience and the client goes into apoplexy. So the advice is simply block all of the EU. After all a local Houston Texas television station doesn't have viewers in the EU.

I suggest you find some US VPN's and use them as the need arrives. Just know you will be getting a load of monetizing tracking cookies.

No. US lawyers know very well what GDPR is and that all 28 EU countries have the same regulation. It's the US news companies that don't want to comply to it.

The BBC should research it's history before claiming 'highest number on record'. They obviously didn't read about the Wounded Knee massacre in 1890 where 300 Native American men, women and children were shot to death by the US Calvary.
By the time the massacre was over, between 250 and 300 men, women, and children of the Lakota had been killed and 51 were wounded (4 men and 47 women and children, some of whom died later); some estimates placed the number of dead at 300

Just another titillating headline to sell advertising.

And who really thinks the monster thanking the NRA for making an AR15 available for him to kill his wife and 'therapy dog' was of sound enough mind to make that statement believable? Clearly another mental illness case and apparently the 'therapy dog' did little to change his state of mind.

Guns are a part of American culture and will remain that way. If you live in American and don't like guns......you are free to choose not to own one.

The point being, as it has always been, YOU ARE FREE TO CHOOSE.

Unfortunately, so is "Clearly another mental illness case." So when is every gun going to be registered and red flag laws remove them from "Clearly another mental illness case?"

THIS is how you deter mass shootings.

At Least 5 Armed Churchgoers Are Seen On Video Following Shooting, One Victim Possibly Armed As Well

In an incident that could have been much worse in Texas Sunday morning, surveillance video shows at least 5 churchgoers drawing their firearms and pointing them at a suspect who had just opened fire during the morning service.

The mass shooting in the works was thwarted inside West Freeway Church of Christ, which is located west of Fort Worth. Police say that around 10 am local time, a man opened fire inside the church with a shotgun during communion.

A security guard for the church, who is also reported to be ex-FBI, fired a single shot to take down the suspect after that suspect had fired twice.

The suspect killed 1 and injured another.

The security guard’s single shot at the suspect was fatal.

Seems this pic is a bit different. Gunman standing with shotgun and the Retired FBI/Security with handgun. Don't see any of these other guns.

There aren't any because they took several seconds longer for their (non-pro) owners to whip out... after the lone professional on the left had already shot the attempted-mass-murderer and he was down. His reaction time was excellent: from the first shot by the attacker, just over two seconds for two accurate shots from quite a distance, no more attacker.
