Not. Unfortunately I know people in Workers Comp. SOP is for a cop (or firefighter) to go out on workers comp about one year to the day before retirement age, because it will pay them for one year disability and treatments and devices. Then with the year up and the permenent disability on their record, they quality for a higher pension as disabled and the pension is tax free. That is a huge chunk of taxpayer money. For firefighters it is nearly 100% who at some point get injured, not so much so for cops so they have to usually try a psych route to get their status. Now if cops are getting physical with bad guys and not just blowing they away, more of them are going to be able to rip off the taxpayer with the scam because of some documented injury. Someone is counting beans and with the realization 90% of the time the cops kill someone they are someone who is so low class there isn't a lawyer chasing after the taxpayer for a huge settlement. Most of the time the bean counter is right, the rest of the time it is a Ford Pinto bean. [pun intentional]

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (AP) — A shooting at a suburban Denver middle school injured seven people Tuesday, and two suspects were in custody, authorities said.

Douglas County Undersheriff Holly Nicholson-Kluth says there is a possible eighth injury and doesn’t believe there are any other shooters, but tactical teams were still searching room by room. She did not know if there were fatalities or other details about the victims or the extent of their injuries.

Lines of firetrucks, ambulances and law enforcement vehicles from multiple agencies were at the school and medical helicopters landed on a grassy field.

The shooting occurred at the middle school at STEM School Highlands Ranch, a public charter with more than 1,850 students in kindergarten through 12th grades.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded around 1:50 p.m. to the school in the Highlands Ranch community about 15 miles (24 kilometers) south of Denver.

Nicholson-Kluth said police and deputies got there almost immediately and heard shots as they arrived. The school is near a sheriff’s department substation.

The sheriff’s office directed parents to a nearby recreational center to pick up their children.

They are still counting the number of weapons, but it is enough to outfit a regiment! They also found tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition.

While not illegal to own that many, it is likely impossible to do so without needing a Firearms Dealers license to amass them.

I'm sure our self proclaimed NRA lovers are salivating more than Pavlov's dogs at the sight of them.

A college baseball game was postponed in Tennessee on Tuesday evening after an 8-year-old boy allegedly shot his mother in what police are saying was an accident, according to reports.

The unidentified woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition but her condition was later upgraded to stable, FOX 13 of Memphis reported.

The owner of the gun has been detained and police are conducting an investigation to determine if they will press charges, authorities said.

Some over there would have it that all gun shot victims were accidents though. :-(
