Therefore, let me just say that I find you disgusting.

Hopefully, this is allowed. If not, still correct.

Another home run for the second amendment.

Correct. Leaving out for the moment the possession of 'Assault' Rifles.

With over 40% admitting they have guns in their homes. With the real number unknown.

With the vast majority of Americans wishing stricter guns laws. But over 70% are against any ban on possession of hand guns.

http://news.gallup.com/poll/1645/guns.aspx

With perhaps over 250,000,000 guns in possession of people.

With 2/3 of the States controlled by the Republicans.

Good luck with the 2nd Amendment.

Yes. Guns do own the people, just like opioids control the user.

I don't care where the fault is to be honest just that something drastic needs to be done, How many more massacres will it take to
make people/governments to realize this needs to stop!
Take a look at the guns and knives this person has, and only a kid!

They knew he was unstable, but that didn't get him on a database. That is the fault. Fix that and it will drop to European levels.

Maybe, but throwing more guns at the problem (as the NRA recommend) certainly isn't helping at all and in fact is just making the situation worse by the day.

Cheers.

The problem is gun stores/shops are like sweet shops over there anyone can buy a gun,
sadly the restrictions on age and class of weapon don't seem to exist, I'm thankful to our Prime Minister at the time
of the Port Arthur massacre few years ago banning gun ownership, only the people in forces or security and farmers ( Stock Protection ) should have them..
If you feel the need to fire a gun go to a local gun club (Range)..
Can't have the Wild West mentality of centuries ago in today's society, it just don't work..

Just my thoughts on it..

I have no interest in getting a gun, and that won't change, either.

I have guns, but then we have proper licensing, and I'm unusual in having guns, the difference is that the Police have properly vetted my background down to my friends, family, finances, mental health, military and civilian careers, qualifications, experience, plus I have no criminal record, no driving offences (ever), no fines, no debts other than a mortgage for the house, a credit score of 999, and and have provided a legal need to possess firearms.

It takes up to a year to apply for a Firearms or Shotgun Certificate, and involves a full Police Investigation by Special Branch Officers, and a 3 hour Police Interview in your Home, and you can't buy a Gun unless you have the Certificate issued by the Police.

When you do buy or sell a gun, you have to inform the Police within seven days or get five years in Prison, the Police have to know where you securely store the gun and will inspect the security, and need full details of the gun, including make, model, calibre, and serial number, so that the details are placed on the National Firearms Licensing Database, accessible by any Police via the Police National Computer System.

So the Police know who has what, why, and where its stored, and any qualifications the authorised person might have, they might call me out as a Qualified Deer Stalker in an Emergency to deal with an injured Deer in an Road Traffic Collision. They even have my home and mobile numbers, and email address. I have nothing to hide.

The local Police now regard me as a Trusted Person, with sporting equipment, and land management tools, that could be used as lethal weapons. In total, I own 11 Firearms and 2 Shotguns.

Everyone that possesses guns legally in the UK has been through the above system, and the result is we don't shoot anyone, the Police aren't routinely armed, and are friendly, so if they stop you for a traffic offence you aren't going to die and you are more than likely not even going to get a ticket, they will likely let you off with a warning to fix your car fault or modify your driving, and nobody has to fear that someone will jump out and shoot them, and children don't go into schools with guns and shoot other children.

Something to think about.

"Randomly shoot people"? Are you a transplant from the British Isles? I would expect that kind of comment from across the Atlantic, not from a fellow countryman.

Law abiding citizens do not randomly shoot people.

The bad guys with illegally owned guns randomly shoot people. And, suffice to say, the gun doesn't do the shooting either, the trigger person does.
