Supreme Court Overturns NY's Concealed Carry Law

The Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a New York law that regulated who is allowed to carry a concealed weapon in public, expanding gun rights nationwide at a time when the country is reeling from a series of recent mass shooting.

"Any evidence is just going to be dismissed or ignored anyway." The evidence that this post ignores is that overwhelmingly, if they are ever used for anything but practice, firearms are used for murders and assaults and other illegal purposes, not lawful protection from "baddies and sickos."

My issue isn't with the firearms themselves... it's the laws allowing any yahoo to buy a weapon of war that can shoot twenty schoolchildren a minute with no waiting period, no license, no training, no proof of responsible ownership, no nothing except a check that, up until that moment, they have not used such for that purpose.

It's like letting someone on their 16th birthday drive a transport truck with no license or training, and when they inevitably hamburger a busload of nuns and orphans or something equivalently horrific, boohooing that this is the price of "freedom", there's nothing we can do, and if anyone tries they're traitors and deserving of death threats.
