Now let's look at that, an AR-15 has an effective range of 600m while a shotgun has an effective range of 50m, but obviously someone missed that bit of maths. |

AR-15 rounds will also penetrate body armour lower than level 4, which includes all soft/flexible armour including citizen "bulletproof" backpacks and standard-issue police body armour. Need I also mention their unmodified semi-auto rate of fire is about 3x that of a pump-action shotgun as well, even without a bump stock or other gadget.

Keep in mind that the 2nd Amendment was not written to limit the people. It was written to limit government. "Shall not be infringed" means that the government must keep its grubby hands off the rights of the people. Pure and simple, if you can read and understand English as written, not as misinterpreted over the decades. Virtually all gun laws in this country, at all levels, are a violation of the 2nd Amendment.

When it was written "gun" meant flintlock. AFIK there aren't any restrictions on flintlocks. Ergo there are no violations of the second Amendment. |

Also set in stone is "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, ..." - the militia being the gun-bearers in question. Haven't heard much about them being well-regulated. |
