Note that the USA constitution was formulated in the days of slavery and civil war. Hopefully, time has moved on for the better since those 'heady' days?
I love the way the conversation gets turned to slavery as if that was an exclusively US practice. (And STILL is legal in some cultures). Also please note that after the abolishment of slavery (you know, the Civil War, where a million US citizens died settling the question), the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution conveyed the 'Right to Bear Arms' in their defense to all persons of color.

Guns and Alcohol have always been a bad combination, which every responsible gun owner acknowledges freely. In every hunting camp I've ever been in, when the bottle comes out the guns go away by unanimous consent.

I do not frequent 'Lounges, Bars or Dance Clubs' because I won't tolerate stupidity or drunks, both of which are found in those venues in great abundance. It there for does not surprise me that this occurred. It is not though any reason to deny reasonable, intelligent law abiding citizens the right to defend themselves.

Again, criminals have no respect for laws. That's why they are called 'criminals'. Additional laws will have no effect on criminals just on those who respect the law, or will cause the law to be widely broken by all, as in the Prohibition of Alcohol.

Fact is, American culture is so deeply rooted in the philosophy of 'if my neighbor has one, I deserve one too' that if guns are made illegal they will be as profligate as bootleg gin was a century ago.

Yes, I'm deeply aware that my country (and specifically the city where I went to school) was funded by the slave trade - although that fact was airbrushed from my school history curriculum, 50 years ago. The Colston Hall is only now being renamed.

But we did manage to abolish it before you, and we did so without (much) bloodshed - certainly not a million casualties. There are strange consequences of those times, but they are for another thread.

Oh dear. Many countries in our world doesn't need guns to make a great country great.
And I wonder how your indigenous people think today...
Never mind. Enjoy your holiday instead.
And then vote for your President to rule you.
As for now it's a bummer to Trump https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/
As always actually.
Cheers:)

https://abc7.com/15-people-shot-1-fatally-on-july-4th-in-chicago/5380423/
At least one person was killed and 14 others were wounded on Independence Day due to gun violence in Chicago, Illinois.

In Humboldt Park, a 32-year-old man was killed when he was shot while standing near the intersection of Homan and Iowa around 11:30 a.m, according to the Chicago Police Department. A 31-year-old man, a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy also were wounded in the shooting.

Chicago Police Department spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi tweeted that officers "attempted to chase a white sedan but lost sight of the car."

Three people were also stabbed and 16 people were trampled following Fourth of July fireworks on Chicago's Navy Pier.

Guglielmi told ABC News that a "mini-stampede" took place there after a private security officer incorrectly yelled "active shooter" into the crowd.

He said the three stabbings were a result of an argument over rival gangs, when one of the men involved pulled out a knife and stabbed three individuals.

Last year, there were eight people shot and one killed on July Fourth, according to Guglielmi.

For every Kilo coming north 10 guns go south as payment.

Remember that for next gun you buy, its cheap because of the efficiencies of mass production for the drug cartel.
So your guns support illegal drugs.

No one likes it when the food you’re paying for is cold. At least, not when it’s supposed to be hot, anyway. It’s an irritating and infuriating thing that I’m sure we’ve all had to deal with. It’s also not unusual for someone to get outright furious at the situation.

However, few of us are willing to get violent over it..............

A great time to push for disarming the legal gun owners in America.

It's getting harder and harder to hire and retain good police officers due to the disrespect they receive, the possibility of ambush, and possible legal repercussions of their actions while on duty. It is estimated the rate of police officer per capita in the US has declined by 11% in the last two decades and is continuing that downward spiral.

True Crime
Who wants to be a police officer? Job applications plummet at most U.S. departments.

More and more, self protection is becoming necessary and each qualified citizen should be allowed to possess and carry the same level of firearms that are used by the illegal gun owners bent on committing acts of violence.

At least three people have been shot dead by the perpetrator, according to US authorities. One of them is a six-year-old boy (!), which his father confirms, NBC News reports

And the police arrived in time....not to prevent the shootings....but to attach the toe tags and zip up the body bags.

Officers were already at the site and responded to the shooting in less than a minute, Chief Smithee added.

Just like there weren't any cops in Vegas.
Officers on the scene shot and killed the suspect within one minute of the shooting, according to police.
