Message 1759435 - Posted: 26 Jan 2016, 12:51:25 UTC - in response to Message 1759427.

As I wrote elsewhere:
Details about our computers and tasks are kept up to date by the replica database server, which is offline. Not until it's back online and in sync with the master database server, will we be able to see these details.

I wouldn't expect the replica to be back until after tonight's maintenance.

I hope we can update that to "this morning's maintenance" rather than "indeterminate."

For Ageless and me on the other side of the pond it's the Tuesday evening maintenance. ;)

Hey folks, oddly enough, I have had only CPU units since the V8 stuff released, but now I only seem to get V8 GPU units. Not that I am complaining about GPU units, I've just always used SETI as my CPU busy program when GPU wasn't available, and I don't seem to be getting any of those now. It seems to be all one or the other.

Is this just a massive GPU "push" test to see if all is well, or did we really just burn through all the CPU units?

Again, not complaining about FINALLY having some serious GPU work, would just like to keep my 20 CPU cores busy as well!

I'm getting plenty of both.

Thanks Jeanette. I'll double check my settings to make sure I haven't limited myself!

Yes, of course. It's morning where it happens, though.

I have been experiencing crashes and freezes with the newest version of the boinc application on Mac OS X , this problem sprouted up just recently. Maybe it has something to do with the new SETI?

You should raise that question in the Number Crunching section of the Forums.

You are mixing BOINC and Seti@home. BOINC remains at version 7.6.23.

BOINC downloads new science applications automatically. If you go look your task list you'll find your computers are already working on v8 tasks.

On the off chance SETI staff check the News forum on main more regularly than that on Beta, could we have some more work over there please?

We ran out over the weekend and have nothing to test since.

Many thanks
