I'm having trouble finding info :( My 7.05 AP v7 (opencl_nvidia_100) task are getting a "CL file build failure now" I see that the new apps are 7.09 or 7.10 But I can't seem to find where to get them :( Running 750Ti and Lunatics. Thanks to anyone that can help. |

Ohh yes I did, to run cl_nvidia on beta. I don't think I have run on main since then. I was busy with the E@H challenge, which by the way we are kicking arse in :D Suggestions? |

I'm wondering if you used the lunatics installer v0.43 as opposed to the v0.43b which corrected an issue. This is a guess.. 1 or 2 choice, use 0.43b to see if that corrects the issue, or revert to stock until the newer apps are ready for install.. edit. where did mall come from? lol |

I'm not certain if I installed v0.43b in 1.5 hours active tasks will be done, then a backup, and install. |

Be aware that doing a back-up/restore cycle may over-write your nice new installation. Richard's installer is well behaved, and will preserve any remaining tasks, while creating a valid set of .xml files - but these files will only be for v7 & AP, and will not allow you to run any v8 tasks without more surgery. Just now it would be safer to run stock as there may be updates to the stock v8 applications for which you would have to manually download then edit the .xml files. It is very simple to revert to stock - either delete or rename the two .xml files in the S@H project folder. (I prefer to rename to .xml.old then I can get them back again if needed) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

I don't plan on a restore, I mostly want to preserve my apps, and config files if I need them for editing. And yes my v8 part of XML. I may try stock just to see how they run, but not for now :) Crunching at E@H now for the challenge. but AP refuses to run as configured. |

I don't plan on a restore, You and Zalster were a LOT of help. It seems my AMD rig will run any of the current apps, v7, v8 and BETA without errors. I would like to see some APs though. As with everyone else, my RAC has taken a hit... Thanks for your help and good luck crunching! |

Did I say BACKUP? After v0.43b install and v8 insert into app_info , restart and .... POOF v8 tasks were gone, IT deleted my EXE for v8. I think I got it now after a lot of hunting, but time will tell. |

I saw that there's a new Nvidia app at Beta, does anybody know what has changed and if it's worth upgrading?

I saw that there's a new Nvidia app at Beta, does anybody know what has changed and if it's worth upgrading? Supports v8 tasks, so will be mandatory when and if it clears beta. Other changes are some minor cosmetic refinements, and currently sorting out OSX+Linux builds for stock beta distribution [initial attempts anyway]. Lastly, it's baseline preparation/stabilisation so that optimisations provided by Petri33 can be injected in a generally compatible and configurable way. Should 'feel' pretty familiar to anyone that used the v7 Cuda app, will run v8 & v7 tasks. It's not cleared beta yet, as there is some careful checking to go through, though seems to be surviving basic checks. "Living by the wisdom of computer science doesn't sound so bad after all. Thanks Jason for setting the expectation for how V8 will be similar to the V7 Cuda apps! John |

I saw that there's a new Nvidia app at Beta, does anybody know what has changed and if it's worth upgrading? Sorry I think I didn't make my question clear enough. I currently run 8.05 (r3314) and I saw that 8.06 (r3330 I guess?) is now on beta.

Sorry I think I didn't make my question clear enough. I currently run 8.05 (r3314) and I saw that 8.06 (r3330 I guess?) is now on beta. Yes, r3314 was withdrawn and replaced by r3330 because (IIRC) of some problematic gaussians. You should discard r3314. Edit - Mike found And here we have worst case scenario i guess. |
