You really have to wonder where some idiots get themselves a license to drive from. They had a disabled badge in the windscreen. Maybe they thought being able to drive on the wrong side of the road when the traffic isn't moving was one of the perks as well as being able to use disabled parking spaces? Grant Darwin NT |

Airport parking, ensure you don't park under the flight path. |

Airport parking, ensure you don't park under the flight path.Ouch! A quick search brings up the weight of one of the main landing gear wheels is around 120kg. Falling from that height, with the added benefit of the take off speed, i think the damage to any vehicles would be more than just slight. Grant Darwin NT |

Especially the dashcam guy recording the scene is an aggressive ghost driver. ;-) |

This is a good example of kinetic energy hitting a target. This is why medieval catapults were used as siege weapons. |

Now why did he lose control? Woman killed after being pinned between bus and building on Edward Street in Brisbane CBD. |

Now why did he lose control?Even more so because that's a 40km/h zone. As heavy as a bus is, at that speed it can stop pretty damn quickly. Grant Darwin NT |

After 22yrs of driving the things I certainly can't figure it out unless he was trying to avoid 1 of those city idiots that jump out in front of you, but it's better to hit them than try to swerve to avoid them with a vehicle of that size in the confines of a city (you can only ease on the brakes as you don't wont to be throwing your passengers out of their seats and causing even more injuries) and there are cameras in them to capture those Darwin Award contenders. And the bus is certainly too far from the corner that it came around for it being a steering failure as well. The only other thing maybe a medical episode. |

That's not good. Two pilots have been “temporarily suspended” after they both fell asleep during a two-hour and 35-minute flight, with 159 people on board. A sleep-deprived new father of twins and his co-pilot allegedly fell asleep in the cockpit midair, officials in Indonesia said. |

What is going on at United Airlines? A plane was forced to turn back to Sydney Airport following a mid-air emergency – making it the airline’s fifth emergency in a week. Article is a bit over 1 year old but research is continuing... Could hackers take control of the computer(s) on the cars, traffic control system(s) or both causing a traffic jam and/or major accident involving multiple vehicles or even running over pedestrians? Researchers propose a fourth light on traffic signals for self-driving cars "This concept we're proposing for traffic intersections, which we call a 'white phase,' taps into the computing power of autonomous vehicles (AVs) themselves," says Ali Hajbabaie, corresponding author of the paper and an associate professor of civil, construction and environmental engineering at NC State. "The white phase concept also incorporates a new traffic signal, so that human drivers know what they are supposed to do. Red lights will still mean stop. Green lights will still mean go. And white lights will tell human drivers to simply follow the car in front of them." |

Points more towards a maintenance problem at United ATM. Quite; Juan Browne has already covered the broken hose that has a service life replacement value. |
