3 idiots, a motor scooter, no helmets, run red light and meets car. Then 1 does a runner.
Brain dead oxygen thieves & motorised vehicles- not a good combination.

A different sort of collision occurs at airport.

At least 2 hurt when employee shuttle collides with passenger plane taxiing on O'Hare runway.

At least two people suffered minor injuries when an employee shuttle clipped a passenger airplane taxiing for departure at Chicago O'Hare International Airport on Friday, officials said.

The bus and plane made "minor contact," and the injuries to two people were characterized as very minor, said Chicago Fire Department spokesperson Larry Langford.

The two were taken to medical facilities, he said.

American Airlines said that the ground vehicle was one of its employee buses and that six of its team members on board were being evaluated at a hospital. No injuries were reported among those on the aircraft, it said in a statement.

It was not immediately clear whether the airline's total included the two mentioned by the fire department.

The plane, a Bombardier CRJ-200 operated by Air Wisconsin Flight 6209, was taxiing ahead of takeoff when the collision took place about 7:20 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration said in a preliminary statement......

Was it in a "non movement" area? That is part of the airport not under control tower supervision. We need facts.

It's been reported as taxiing for departure.
So, unless the plane had gotten reallylost, it was in a movement area under ATC supervision.

Or reporters have no clue with a pushback being taxiing for departure; page 6 of https://badging.flychicago.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/ord/Advanced%20Airfield%20Familiarization%20-%20MAY%202022%20GRAPHICS%20-%20FINAL.pdf shows a lot of non-movement area including some taxiways.

Considering that recently a successful wheels-up landing was reported as a crash, highly likely.
It looks like the only taxiways that are non-movement areas are those immediately adjacent to the UA & AA staging areas, the international taxi-lanes (surprisingly to me- a relatively low traffic area?), and taxi-lane NN1 (part of the North East cargo ramp).

In a county known for its wet weather*, you would think that this wouldn't happen.

*When the industrial revolution started in the late 18th century, Lancashire was where a lot of cotton mills were built. Cotton fibers break when they get dry and cannot be spun.

It can be like the wild, wild west on the roads here in Texas..
Texas highways are fast, but are they dangerous? Here’s what a national road study says
Texas is the state with the 10th highest rate of deadly crashes from speeding, a new study reveals.

To find out which state had the highest proportion of fatal crashes with speed as a contributor, business litigation and personal injury lawyers Heninger Garrison Davis analyzed the most recent data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Speed-related factors include a driver exceeding the speed limit, driving too fast for the road conditions or racing.

Well if the speed limit is higher, then the factor of going over the speed limit is going to be lower because less people will go that fast.

A better study might be to decile the speeds involved and bin the number of crashes in each. Might even get a rational maximum limit out of it.

Not quite transport safety in the strictest sense of the word, but.... In Scotland we have the A83, part of which is known as the "Rest and be Thankful". This is a "modern" road, built part way up the valley side to avoid the rather steep and winding "Military Road". The "new" road (set out in about 1931) regularly gets blocked by landslides, while the "old" road remains clear and is often used as an alternative route. There are various proposals to alleviate this problem, all these are very expensive, such as "avalanche tunnels", a new route, trap ditches; all these are very expensive, and will mean the current A83 being closed for some time. So, why not just upgrade the "old" road by sorting out a few of the bends and the worst of its gradients? (Perhaps it's just too blindingly obvious?)

Now did the train derail taking out the bridge and trapping the truck, or did the bridge fail taking out the train and trapping the truck?

It's a mess anyway it happened.

A plane with loose windows returned to Stanstead during its climb through 10,000 ft:

Which is a bit of a contrast with the first few lines of their website home page:
Titan Airways is a leading European charter airline providing the highest standards of service, safety and reliability.

Seeing this video, I wished that I had my old boss's personal e-mail address.
He rollicked me years ago for refusing to go out with a driver that stunk of alcohol.
A driver who months later totaled his truck & a solid oak tree on the A1.
Later his co-driver spoke to me moaning about him.
All I said that he was just as responsible - he got in the truck with him.

We ain't coming home

Have to agree 100% with that police officer.
