Two Alaska Airlines planes leaving Seattle both scraped tails on the runway DURING take off because computer bug told pilots the aircraft were 20,000 pounds lighter
The planes took off six minutes apart on January 26, and at no point made physical contact with each other.

The issue was deemed serious enough for Alaska Airlines to initiate a nationwide stoppage of all aircraft in the immediate aftermath, according to the Seattle Times.

A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines confirmed to DailyMail.com that the incident did occur and the grounding lasted for around 20 minutes.

'The tail touches were caused by a vendor software update that mistakenly installed code resulting in inaccurate take-off performance weight data for a small subset of our flights,' they said.

Things really are getting bad- yet another runway incursion as a Lear jet took off without clearance & crossed an active runway as another aircraft came into land on that active runway.

No idea, but do you recall the scene where "Dirty Harry" says "Make my day"?
Well 8 bozos made those police officers day by getting ticketed for using their mobile while driving.
it turned out to be a very expensive photo.shoot for them :-)

Sadly not as hard as one would hope......
The locks on the tipper body are not that strong as they are only designed (and required) to hold the body down once it is lowered and held in place by the hydraulic ram. If there is a fault in the ram it is possible for the ram to put too much force on the locks and they give up the unequal fight and the body can rise, uncontrolled and un-commanded. Once the body reaches a certain height, and the truck a certain speed, aerodynamics (lack there of) takes over and the body will rise quite rapidly (this whole process can take a matter of a few seconds - much faster than a normal tipping operation). Once the body is up the driver will notice a remarkable amount of drag and the truck will be very unstable. Put a bridge in the way and, well the pictures tell the story.

Yeah, but getting the tipper up on the divider and jamming it there took some real skill.

This is yet another example of why #^#^tards shouldn't be allowed to drive/ride motorised vehicles.

Even so, down in South Australia on the Adelaide rail network, there have been two people hit by trains in 2 days.

There are plenty of crossings & roads etc that are dangerous & do need work to make them safer- but If people can't look right and left, and as the two idiots on the scooter showed going around a device put there to protect people from danger, there is nothing you can do that will keep people safe if they aren't prepared to be responsible for their own safety.

Moment teenager crashes into lorry after leading police on 100mph chase on A180. Video shows the teenager's fiesta exploding and spinning after hitting the back of the lorry.

Article link >
(Teenager) failed to stop for police in Cleethorpes in Lincolnshire last July, resulting in a chase along the A180 eastbound to Barnetby.

The teenager admitted dangerous driving and was sentenced to 12 months in prison - suspended for two years.

The high-impact crash left him in a coma for four days and he continues to recover from his injuries, the Grimsby Telegraph reported.

Dashcam footage from Humberside Police shows him speed away from officers in his white Ford Fiesta, as the driver dangerously serves between lanes at high speeds.

Horror crash as fleeing car causes building collapse in Baltimore.

Wild footage has been released of a car involved in a police chase losing control and crashing into a building, causing the structure to partially collapse and leaving one pedestrian dead.

Several others were injured in the February 8 incident in Baltimore, Maryland....

Let us have a moment's silence for all the inanimate objects destroyed by the truck, and in thanks that no humans were killed.

That was just on the TV news here and it certainly isn't something you want happening while driving a twisting mountain road.

Cheers.

Someone at Tesla must have heard the old joke that the part of the vehicle that causes the most accidents is the nut behind the steering wheel, so they left it off as a safety feature. :^p
