Car crushed by tractor in crash caught on CCTV at RAF Mildenhall

RAF Mildenhall is one of those UK airbases primarily used by the USAF, so I wondered from the still image if it was another 'wrong side of the road' case. But the video clearly shows the tractor veering from the other side at the last moment, in full view of the oncoming car. Nasty.

Queensland's Browns Plains without electricity after drone food delivery crashes into powerlines
"The meal was still hot inside the drone's delivery box when the crew got there," Mr Donald said.
That's the main thing, if the customer got it in time. :-D

A Darwin Award winning.

Shelby GT500 Thief Runs Out Of Gas, Dies.

...While crossing the San Mateo Bridge, Jaeger’s luck ran out and so did the gas in the Shelby. Surely he saw the gas light before, but the man kept pushing the GT500 hard to shake the fuzz and as a result he literally drained the tank so the car just stopped dead.

By the time authorities caught up with him, Jaeger was also dead. They believe after he ran out of gas, the man got out of the car and was hit by oncoming traffic. What a way to go....
Well he won't be making that mistake again.

Cheers.

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - A driver was killed early Saturday when his (Tesla) car caught fire after hitting a tree along I-75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Investigators say a man was driving a Tesla southbound, north of University Parkway, when he lost control of the vehicle.

The car veered onto the shoulder and into a ditch before hitting a tree. The car caught fire; the driver was unable to get out and died at the scene. The man has not yet been identified.

The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.

Have to admit that over the years did have several bad habits while driving.
Smoking.
Drinking (coffee).
Eating.
However, never took both hands off the wheel or eyes of the road.
Silly man

Beat me to it.
Normally when a car crashes into a house, it ends up in the house. This one went all the way through & hit the shed in the back yard

Rivian... EV maker recalls nearly all cars
The Amazon firm on Friday recalled about 13,000 vehicles due to a possible loose fastener that could cause the driver to lose steering control.

Now why didn't the instructor override the student?

Investigators determined that the student pilot attempted to pull up the Cessna 172 at a very steep angle during takeoff, causing the engine to stall in the air.
Wouldn't have been time to do so.
You can recover from a stall when you've got plenty of altitude. But no altitude, no chance of recovery.

causing the engine to stall

Highly unlikely - more probable the aircraft stalled due to the high angle of attack induced by the student pulling hard back on the controls. Once stalled at low altitude the crash was unavoidable, and landing in the ditch was as much due to local geography as anything else.

I thought so myself too, but that's exactly what was posted in the article.

Uneducated media, making up fake news. Wings have boundary layer separation from excessive angle of attack, commonly called a stall.

There is a fine line between allowing the student to learn from the school of hard knocks and realizing that the lesson is going to kill yourself.

Brain fog would be the factor. If you can't stop before you travel past where you can see when you hit stop, that isn't weather fog, that is brain fog!
