Florida Woman Performs Irish Jig During Sobriety Test
Video footage showed the deputy watching as the woman tried to walk along the line. However, she held her arms out and began dancing.

At one point she told the deputy, “Look, if you’re going to arrest me just do it now,” and continued arguing with the officer.

When she tried to walk the line again, she broke out into what appeared to be an Irish jig. Her dance then morphed into a ballet performance

I would want to be on any plane with this pair up front.

Pilots suspended after cockpit fistfight.

Two Air-France pilots have been suspended after a physical altercation in the cockpit, reports say.

The pilot and co-pilot exchanged blows as they flew an Airbus A320 from Geneva to Paris in June, Swiss news outlet La Tribune said.

Members of the cabin crew intervened after hearing the noise. One crew member stayed in the cockpit until the flight landed safely....

If my experience of other tomato, and other soft fruits, growing countries can be used as a yardstick, then this is probably not all that uncommon in California.

Tesla faces Autopilot lawsuit alleging phantom braking
Automaker accused of hiding malfunctioning tech from drivers.

At issue is Autopilot's Automated Emergency Braking (AEB), which is supposedly designed to automatically slow or stop the vehicle if the feature is active and its sensors detect an object in its path. The suit alleges that Tesla knew of a problem where phantom objects would allegedly cause vehicles to unexpectedly slow or stop "for years, including before it put the class vehicles on the market."

15:45 UTC / 10:45 AM CDT UPDAT/Edit just heard on news that pilot has crashed plane and is is in police custody

This is an ongoing situation..

Pilot threatens to crash small plane into Mississippi Walmart
The pilot of a small plane has threatened to intentionally crash into a Walmart in Mississippi, local police said on Saturday, leading to an evacuation of the store.

The police department in Tupelo, Mississippi said they were notified about the situation earlier on Saturday and had been talking directly to the pilot.

"With the mobility of an airplane of that type the danger zone is much larger than even Tupelo," the police said in a statement on Facebook.

They added that Walmart and a gas station had been evacuated and people had been dispersed.

Social media videos, which Reuters could not immediately verify, appeared to show a small plane flying in circles at a low altitude.

The Daily Journal said the pilot worked at the Tupelo regional airport and the plane was currently flying near a Toyota plant.

I think that a firefighter will be going back to driver training.

Footage captures moment fire truck and tram collide in Sydney’s CBD.

I'm sure that he soon learned that you give way to things that run on rails.

Cheers.

Internet pranksters send hundreds of cabs to Moscow street, cause gridlock
'Improved algorithm' set to keep miscreants at bay, web-based taxi service promises
Around three lanes of Moscow’s Kutuzovsky Prospekt — a major multi-lane road that runs east to west leading into the centre of the Russian capital, and is so broad it rarely has traffic jams — were filled with vehicles whose drivers were all apparently looking for the same fictional fare. The blockage apparently took 40 minutes to clear.

In a statement, Yandex Taxi said: "On the morning of September 1, Yandex Taxi encountered an attempt by attackers to disrupt the service - several dozen drivers received bulk orders to the Fili district of Moscow.

A good news transport story, Leeds: M62 motorist brings sick driver's car safely to a stop
A car whose driver had fallen seriously ill while at the wheel on a motorway was brought to a halt by a quick-witted motorist who had realised his plight.

John Barlow said he spotted the Audi going slowly in the outside lane of the M62 near Leeds on Saturday. The driver was slumped with a bloodied face.

Mr Barlow managed to get his car ahead of the Audi and eased it to a stop before getting out to help the man.

It emerged the driver had suffered a seizure but was well enough to go home.

Dramatic video shows Navy jet crashing near Fort Worth in 2021 after bird hits engine
The Navy trainer jet that crashed into a Lake Worth (Texas) neighborhood during a landing approach last September was downed by a large bird, according to military documents and cockpit video obtained Tuesday by the Star-Telegram.

A 4.5-pound black vulture was ingested into the jet’s single engine as it descended toward a runway at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, according to a Navy report. Within 30 seconds, the jet plummeted into backyards and burst into flames, injuring at least three residents.

... In the flight video, which was obtained by the Star-Telegram through a public records request, the plane appears to be operating normally until the final minute before the crash. The Navy report describes the majority of the flight as “uneventful.”

As the jet approaches the runway and descends, a bird appears in the distance. One bird passes to the right in the video, followed by a second bird. A third bird appears and passes to the left. And then, a fourth bird appears directly in front of the plane. As it comes into focus, the feathers on its wings are visible as it tumbles to the lower right side of the video frame.

"Sh--!” one of the pilots yells.

Seconds later, alarms begin sounding in the cockpit, obscuring the pilot’s voice as he talks over the radio.

Emergency, we are trying to make it to the runway,” he says. But as landing instructions come over the radio, about 20 seconds after the bird strike, the pilot interrupts.

We’re not gonna make it,” he says. With alarms still sounding, the aircraft dips suddenly toward the ground, the trees below coming closer into view. Six seconds before the crash, a pilot yells, “Stand by to eject. Pull up! Pull up!

The last frame of the video shows the top of a tree, overlaid with a bright green arrow from the flight controls.

... The plane itself — a T-45C Goshawk — damaged several homes and came to rest in a backyard. A neighbor of that home told the Star-Telegram at the time that the yard was engulfed in flames; the fence gate was so hot he couldn’t touch it.

No civilians were killed or seriously injured in the crash, which neighbors and authorities have referred to as “a miracle.”

The Navy report categorized the crash as a “wildlife strike” event. Immediately after the plane ingested the bird, the report says, the engine compressor stalled. The report also noted that a “post-inspection of the aircraft revealed bird remains, including blood on the starboard intake, in the engine.”

While much of the report is redacted, a summary of the crash cost lists $250,000 in civilian property damage, $400,000 in environmental impact, $877,000 in federal injury costs and $45.4 million in federal property damage. In total, the crash came with a price tag of $46.93 million.
