TBH, I think it's a welcome addition to road safety.
New detector vehicle on the road
However, "Traffic Survey?"
Do they still think that most of us are that stupid?

Just because a plane is missing a wheel doesn't mean that you need to exit it before landing. :-O

Update: It's been confirmed that the man who fell/jumped from plane was the co-pilot.

Co-pilot dies after fall from plane in North Carolina.

Mystery still surrounds on how or why he fell.

The only thing that comes to mind was him hanging out of the aircraft to try to see the problem with the landing gear & losing his grip.

Much as it pains me to say it, the pilot needs to be investigated, just to be sure.

Did someone forget to do something?

Wayward trailer slams into oncoming truck.

I wonder how the truck driver fared.

Anne Heche expected to ‘pull through’ after near-deadly car crash
Heche, 53, was reportedly intubated and remains in critical condition after she slammed her blue Mini Cooper into a garage in Los Angeles Friday, then backed up and took off before smashing into another house.

The car exploded after the second crash, and Heche — who was reportedly badly burned — was later seen flailing on a stretcher after first responders rescued her from the wrecked vehicle.

...Nearly 60 firefighters took a little more than an hour to put out the blaze and rescue Heche from the burned and wrecked car in the Mar Vista area of LA. The home she hit was destroyed.

A disheveled-looking Heche was pictured at the wheel of her car after the first crash, when bystanders were apparently trying to get her to stop driving. One photo showed a container with a red top on it that appeared to be a vodka bottle.

For sure.
Either way, it's one very weird incident.

It looks like 1 U.S. state is following Germany's lead.

California DMV accuses Tesla of making false claims about Autopilot and Full-Self Driving.

California’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has accused Tesla of falsely advertising its Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) features, as reported earlier by the Los Angeles Times (via CNBC). The agency filed two separate complaints with the state’s Office of Administrative Hearings on July 28th, alleging Tesla made “untrue or misleading” claims about its vehicles’ autonomous driving capabilities....
Considering the accidents that are being racked up by Tesla something needs to be done about these overly hyped systems that are causing deaths.

Cheers.

Better late than never
Given that here in Australia there are more laws giving cyclists more rights on rods, if they want to have those rights then they should also be held accountable to all the traffic laws all the other vehicles have to obey as well (while they're supposed to follow them, it's a very rare cyclist that does).

Although it doesn't help when confused drivers give way to cyclists, when the car actually has the right of way (but given the number of cyclists using a bike path or foot path that just ride across a road without so much as slowing down or checking for turning traffic i can understand why some people do so).
I'm amazed there aren't more car v cyclist/pedestrian crashes than there are. It's bad enough pedestrians wandering along playing with their phones with their air buds cranked up, but i'm seeing increasing numbers of cyclists doing the same thing.

All of the accidents i've looked at to date have been caused by the drivers not using the system according to the instructions in the owners manual- basically those modes are there to assist the driver, not replace them. [b[The driver is still the one responsible for driving the vehicle[/b] & must be ready to take back control if necessary. Having a sleep, playing games, watching a video, sitting in a seat other than the drivers seat all go against the requirements of using those features.

Like most other road crashes, there would be little if any Tesla crashes if idiots weren't allowed to drive them (although Teslas marketing claims for those features that can best be described as "embellished" doesn't help).

The word "autopilot" means to the general public crawl in the back seat and take a nap. If you need to read the manual first, then since Tesla doesn't have dealers, they should require just that before they hand over the keys.

Maybe playing a video on the car's screen fully instructing a person in it's use 1st before it can be driven away may help and if you cancel watching the video then those functions won't work.

Driver had 3 DWI convictions before killing teen by crashing into North Texas home: police
(The driver had three previous DWI CONVICTIONS)
The 63-year-old man, who now lives in North Texas, was just blocks away from his home Sunday evening when he lost control of his pickup truck, drove over a curb and hit a fence and trees at one home before slamming into another home on Jason Court in White Settlement and driving through multiple bedrooms, police said. Three people were inside of the home at the time of the crash.

(The driver) was arrested at the scene and faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault, based upon officers’ observations, evidence and witness statements at the scene.

Why was this speed Demon allowed to still have a Drivers license?
Woman Accused Of Causing Deadly Los Angeles Crash Charged With Murder; History Of Reckless Driving
... According to California Highway Patrol, Linton was involved in 13 prior crashes, which gave the district attorney a case for knowingly posing a threat with her reckless driving.

... Attorney Halim Dhanidina claims Linton also has an out-of-state history of “documented profound mental health issues”, but did not link those factors with the deadly crash.
