Rescuers in Nepal have found the crash site of a plane that went missing on Sunday with 22 people on board.

The wreckage of the plane, operated by Nepali carrier Tara Air, was recovered in the district of Mustang in northern Nepal, said a Nepal Army spokesman.

The passenger plane was on a 20-minute flight when it lost contact with air traffic control five minutes before it was due to land.

It is still not known if there are any survivors from the crash.

Four Indians, two Germans and 16 Nepalis were on board the plane, according to reports. But search operations were hampered by bad weather and mountainous terrain, and only resumed on Monday morning. ....

Nepal tightens flight rules after crash that killed 22.

Flights in Nepal will be cleared to fly only if there is favourable weather forecast throughout their route, according to new regulations announced in the wake of a recent crash that killed 22 people, officials said Thursday.

A full investigation into the crash of the Twin Otter aircraft in western Nepal on Sunday is underway, but a preliminary inquiry suggested that bad weather caused the accident.

Air traffic control lost contact with the twin-prop plane shortly after it took off from Pokhara and headed for Jomsom, a popular Himalayan trekking destination.

The wreckage was found a day later, with all 16 Nepalis, four Indians and two Germans who were on board killed.

Aviation companies have raised concerns about how to implement the new regulations, citing the country's limited weather forecasting infrastructure.

Authorities say flight permits will now only be issued after the aircraft's operator submits a flight plan with weather information for the destination and the entire route of the flight, according to a Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal notice issued on Tuesday.

Deadly train derailment in southern Germany.

At least three people were killed and about 60 injured when a train derailed in Germany's south-eastern state of Bavaria, police say.

The train, which was carrying many students, was heading to Munich when three carriages came off the tracks near Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

It is unclear what caused the accident, a police spokesperson said.

Images published by local media show several crumpled train carriages lying on their sides.

Sixteen of the injured were in a serious condition, a spokesperson for the Garmisch-Partenkirchen local authority told reporters.

Six helicopters, including three scrambled from the Austrian region of Tyrol, have been on the scene to assist as rescue efforts continue.

"People are being pulled through the windows," police said. Police say that it cannot be ruled out that a number of students celebrating the beginning of the summer holidays are among those injured.

The accident happened at around 13:15 local time (11:15 GMT), shortly after the train left Garmisch-Partenkirchen for Munich.

Part of the route between Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen has been blocked off and traffic has been diverted, German rail operator Deutsche Bahn says.

A US soldier based at a nearby air base was driving past when the train derailed. He told local media the accident had been "just awful - suddenly the train overturned"....

General Motor's autonomous vehicle unit Cruise says it will deploy driverless taxis in San Francisco in a first for a major US city.

Cruise announced the plans for a ride hailing service using self-driving electric cars after the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) issued it a permit to give rides without anyone in the driver's seat.

"This means that Cruise will be the first and only company to operate a commercial, driverless ride-hail service in a major US city," chief operating officer Gil West said in a blog post late Thursday.

Train accident leaves 74 injured in Slovakia.

A train near the Strecno municipality stopped due to a defect and was hit by a locomotive which was coming to its aid. The site is close to an important railway junction.

Many people were injured after a passenger train collided with a locomotive in Slovakia on Friday.

According to Slovak police statement posted on social media, 59 people were mildly injured, 11 sustained moderate injuries and four severe injuries. 34 people were transferred to nearby hospitals.

Police said that the cause of the accident was under investigation....

At least 17 killed in train derailment in central Iran.

"Seventeen people are dead and 37 injured people have been transferred to hospital," emergency services spokesman Mojtaba Khaledi told state television.

"The number of the dead may rise as most of the injured are in critical condition," he said, adding that "24 ambulances and three helicopters have been dispatched to the scene."

Tabas is located in South Khorasan province roughly 900 kilometres (560 miles) by road from Tehran.

The deputy head of Iran's state-owned railways, Mir Hassan Moussavi, told the state broadcaster that the train was carrying 348 passengers.

It "derailed after hitting an excavator" that was near the track, he said.

Some of the injured were airlifted to hospital by helicopter, state television footage showed.

Rescue teams inspected the oveturned carriages as onlookers gathered nearby, pictures posted by the ISNA news agency showed.

One of the pictures showed a yellow excavator on its side by the track.

Five of the train's 11 coaches came off the track in the 5:30 am (0100 GMT) accident, the Iranian Red Crescent's head of emergency operations, Mehdi Valipour, told state television.

The Tabas prosecutor visited the scene as a judicial investigation was launched into the cause of the accident, Iranian media reported...

The woman has been charged with aggravated battery of an officer, resisting an officer, vehicular hijacking, attempted murder, driving on a suspended license and possessing a stolen law enforcement vehicle, according to police. She was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle.

Question: What were 11 people doing in that size of a boat? Maybe that's why it capsized?

Authorities were called just after 5:00 p.m. that day to the scene of a capsized boat east of Beer Can Island, the Tampa Bay Times reported Thursday.
