And those flying fans continue crashing. :-( Two people have died after a helicopter crashed in the Snowy Mountains in NSW, just days after another fatal chopper incident killed five. |

Thanks Wiggo, adds more fuel to my thoughts that the Robinson family of helicopters just look wrong with that big tall, narrow, pillar supporting the rotor.Keep in mind that compared to other rotary wing aircraft, they are very cheap (in comparison) to buy. So there are a lot of them about, often used by people with limited training, and often lacking in regular (if any) maintenance and here in Australia are used by a lot of farmers in very remote regions- whose main repair materials are fencing wire and tape. Dumb crooks of the week awards go to... Woman carjacked at gunpoint, then assailants return moments later looking for keys After starting to drive away, the assailants realized that the car had been turned on via a push-button and system and returned to get the keys, police said. They reportedly patted her down but could not find the keys and then drove away for a second time, police said. |

From AccuWeather: Months after disastrous I-95 backup, new report details what went wrong While the report didn't blame an individual agency, it did make a few recommendations to prevent a similar incident from occurring in the future, including for the state to formulate a plan for widespread interstate closures and to include more specific details in emergency alerts and social media posts. It also said that the public has the responsibility to listen to officials and stay off the roads if possible during storms. Link to full report (PDF) |

Pit maneuver launches police car skyward, but the Ram driver wasn't so lucky (though he did get his Darwin Award). :-O Full Video Of Fatal Arkansas PIT Maneuver Revealed. ...First off, we’re not the least bit shocked a Ram driver is being this aggressive with police. We don’t say that to imply all Ram owners are bad people; some members of the Motorious team are Ram owners. But we can admit there are certain Ram owners who have built up a stereotype for being overly aggressive around everyone else on the road. We don’t know why this is. |

The world's gone crazyIf these are fully autonomous vehicles, then why does the passenger need to be ready to take control if necessary? And if that is the case, then how in hell are they going to do so if they're watching something at the time? I think their legislation needs some more work. Grant Darwin NT |

500 pounds of weed spills onto road: ‘It is 4/20’ after all, cops say No one was seriously injured in the crash, it confirmed, but some of their criminal records sure were. Two men from Mexico, aged 32 and 34, were arrested on felony first-degree drug trafficking charges, MSHP said. One also was charged with reckless driving. |
