That's going to be a fun cleanup.
Looks like there's some access from the rear of a business there, but that's about it.
And I wonder if the pipeline being laid under the track caused the derailment?

Oops, nobody watching their radar screens in a heavy shipping area?

Tanker & Cargo ship collide

Or anybody on the bridge?

"Weather conditions at the time of the callout showed a moderate wind and the state of the sea was calm, the RNLI said."

I'm curious as to the result of the investigation into the collision between the US war ship & a container ship. off Japan not so long ago.
If anyone would be keeping a 24/7 eye on their Radar, you'd think it would be a warship.

Anything that gets inside the defense perimeter of a warship. Sounds like several officers stand to be sent to the brig.
As the ship they hit claims to have sent radio warnings, the radio officer on the warship obviously wasn't monitoring the emergency channel as he should be doing in peacetime.
The radar navigation officer, you know the cargo ship was on his screen, if he looked!
The CIC radar officer allowed it inside the defense perimeter without calling the bridge, and on a collision course, again no way it wasn't on his screen!
IIRC the weather was clear, so no visual watch saw it either?

I get the feeling that captain didn't issue the right orders before he went to sleep, or some junior XO on the night watch ignored them and said party!

I'm hearing through back channels the pipeline contractor was working without the proper equipment, required permits, or permission of the railroad, and doing it at night so they wouldn't see, and undermined the roadbed. Permitted speed for that train would be 35 mph in an urban area (Plainfield counts) and it was going 32. Trains were rolling again Sunday morning.

Another train derailment about 100 miles south of me.
And another tricky cleanup.

Airline employee stops rolling truck, averts disaster

An American Airlines employee is being called a hero for his fast thinking.

Surveillance video from DFW Airport shows a man jump into a rolling fueling truck. He stepped on the breaks to avoid a crash and likely a huge explosion.

The serious accident was avoided thanks to longtime American Airlines employee Darren Carbone. He was helping guide a plane back away from the gate at Concourse C when he noticed the runaway truck headed towards other plane.

Not only car drivers use the mobile phones when driving.
Cyclists as well!
In the center of Stockholm crossing a street with heavy traffic with the phone in one hand and the other one on the handle.
Needless to say she fell on to the street with a scream.
I just walked away...
