I don't know if it's a sign of things to come, but after the toss was won by the Aussies (who elected to bowl) when both teams walked onto the field the Aussies were looking happy and relaxed while the Poms all looked liked they'd been kicked in the guts.

Anyhow the 1st ball is about to be bowled.

[edit] Hameed gone for a duck in the 2nd over (1-4)

[edit 2] Crawley out for 12 in the 8th (2-13).

On the 1st innings results the Aussie's have an 82 run lead.

But then again maybe not.

At stumps on day 2 the Poms were 4-31 and still trailing by 51 runs.

Well what can 1 say?

Not even having the decency to make us bat again (let alone making it to the lunch break of day 3). :-O

The Aussies retain the Ashes by winning by an innings and 14 runs and it just doesn't bode well for the remaining 2 tests.

Scotty Boland should get man of match with 6 wickets for 7 runs on debut.

Well it looks like the weather will once again delay the start of the play with showers running down along the coast. :-(

Well play finally got going after a 2hr 10min delay and all I can say is that the play up to the lunch break has been absolutely jaw dropping from both sides. :-O

It looks like day 4 will commence on time for a change today, even after about 30mm of overnight rain, but the forecast for this afternoon's play is not looking good with a very high chance of heavy showers/rain and severe thunderstorms, and tomorrow's forecast isn't looking that good either.

A draw is being highly tipped due to the weather. :-(

After a bit of a fight back finally yesterday afternoon the Poms' tail didn't wag this morning trailing by 122 runs and now the Aussies are about to to set them a target while the sun still shines down there (so far the radar isn't showing anything happening down there as yet).

England need 358 runs tomorrow for a win as today's play finished before the storms hit.

Well the Poms worked a draw (the bookies will be happy with that), just by 1 wicket.

So we all go to Hobart now for another day/nighter.

Well what can 1 say as the Poms absolutely collapsed for a 4-0 Ashes win to the Aussies?

Solution?
We don't have a test team anymore.
What we do have is a circus.
We all know the highlights of a circus - a bunch of clowns.

"In Breaking News:

In a shock move, the English Cricket Board have announced World Tennis No.1 Novak Djokovic as a temporary batting coach.

'We acknowledge that he doesn't have a background in our sport, but we couldn't overlook the fact that it took Australia 2 weeks to get rid of him'."

I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist not posting this bit that's doing the rounds ATM. :-)

In real news the Kiwi's have cancelled their summer tour of Australia citing N.Z. COVID isolation rules, but many think that after the drubbing that Bangladesh recently gave them and what happened to the Poms they didn't feel like being embarrassed again this season. :-(

He didn't see that coming.
