England wobble on day 4 against Sri Lanka but only need 36 on final day to win.
Going to be an interesting 2 days at Brisbane.

It was bound to happen given the current circumstances.

Australia’s Test tour to South Africa cancelled due to safety concerns.

Australia’s Test series against South Africa has been postponed due to an “unacceptable” risk posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Australian Test side was scheduled to travel to South Africa later this month for a three-match series, with a 19-player squad announced last week.

However, South Africa has endured a tumultuous second wave of COVID-19 this summer, recording thousands of new cases every day throughout December.

The country has been battling a mutant strain of the virus and currently has a positivity rate with its testing of 10 per cent.
But as expected.

Cricket South Africa’s scathing response to Australian Test series postponement.

Cricket South Africa has delivered a scathing response to Cricket Australia’s decision to postpone the upcoming Test series, which potentially spells financial catastrophe for the organisation.
They should've come here to play it instead.

Cheers.

Play like a girl. ;-)

Meg Lanning’s side break world record for most consecutive ODI wins.

The Australian women’s cricket team has broken the world record for most consecutive ODI victories, bettering Ricky Ponting’s all-conquering 2003 side.

Meg Lanning’s side registered their 22nd consecutive ODI win on Sunday, defeating New Zealand by six wickets in Mount Maunganui.

Australia has not lost a 50-over match since October 2017, their winning streak including series victories over India, Pakistan, New Zealand, England, the West Indies and Sri Lanka.

The previous record was set by the Australian men’s team in 2003, which included their unbeaten World Cup campaign in Africa.
Congratulations girls!

Well done NZ.
At least all the spectators at Edgbaston will get a full refund for the day's play.
Dismal from England. Doesn't bode well for the Ashes.

If you are going to hit a six, be careful where you send it.

I love this quote:
Club chairman Jeremy Rhodes said: "He is renowned for his big hitting, he's a very destructive batsman. It was right off the middle of his bat, and it went right through the middle of the screen."

James Anderson passes 1,000th first-class wickets playing Lancashire against Kent.

He's just destroyed Kent, they're 74 all out, Jimmy taking 7 wickets for 19.

Ouch
We didn't do much better in the 1st test against India.
Rain saved the day for a draw.

Marvellous...
...not.
We have
Test
ODI
T20
Blast
IPL
County
100

& now the ICC is bidding to have cricket at the Olympics.
Even worse...
...Birmingham Phoenix are top of the table in the men's Hundred after a great game yesterday, & what do the ECB do?
Recall Birmingham Phoenix's captain Moeen Ali to the England team for the 2nd test against India on Thursday.
Personally, think Botham was right.

Day 3 of 2nd test, and a great one it was.
India 364-10
England 391-10
2nd Saturday running, Root saves the day - 180 not out.
Next 2 days are going to be good ones.

Quite impressive first hour for Jimmy, 7 overs, 4 maidens*, 6 runs, 3 wickets. India 30 for 3.

For those with limited cricket knowledge
*a maiden is a 6 ball over without conceding any runs.

N.B. For the Indian team - Actions speak louder than words

At a first quick glance, I misread that as a "midden"...

I'm sure it is all good clean fun!

Enjoy!
