At the end of the 1st session of day 2 the Aussies are 2/475 with just Labuschagne (162) losing his wicket. With Warner (261*) and Smith (34*) at the wicket the next session should prove interesting as a possible declaration could be on the cards before the end of it and forcing Pakistan to open their innings under lights.

Afridi has been the only Pakistan bowler of note so far with 2/75.

Cheers.

As expected the declaration was made at 3/589 just as Warner (335*) broke an old Donald Bradman record and at the dinner break Pakistan was 1/3 after 6 overs.

And then the Pakistan batsmen will have the lights to adjust to.

Cheers.

After Stark took 6/66 closing the Pakistan 1st inning at 302 runs so the Aussies enforced the follow on and by the time rain stopped play on day 3 Pakistan were 3/39 (still trailing by 243 runs).

Day 4 will be very interesting.

Cheers.

Well that's Pakistan done, by an innings and 48 runs, with Lyon taking 5/69.

Now to see if the Kiwis can give us a decent match before the ODI's start.

Cheers.

The Aussies reached 4-248 at stumps on day 1 as the Kiwis were giving us a bit of competition for a change, compared to our other recent opponents. :-)

The only thing wrong about a Pink Ball Test being held in Perth is that it doesn't start until 4pm here while stumps is at 11pm (or a bit later). :-(

Cheers.

Well the Aussies are all out for 416 and now the Kiwis will have bat with the lights coming into play.

Maybe the Kiwis won't be able to give us the contest we were looking for as at stumps they were 5/109 in that last session of day 2 and Williamson and Taylor will certainly have several good bruises after being peppered by some very fast bowling. Starc took 4 wickets for 31 runs off 11 overs.

We'll just have to see if the Kiwis can steady the ship tomorrow.

Cheers.

Sadly the Kiwi batsmen wern't up to the same standard as their bowlers being all out for 166 (250 behind) while Starc took 5 for 52. The Aussie openers had to face 1 over before the dinner break.

Cheers.

The Aussies have declared at 9/217 giving them a 467 run lead on a cracking/deteriorating pitch.

Well the Kiwi bowlers are certainly proving to be difficult with it taking the Aussies just over 5 sessions to grind out 467 runs, but in just under 2 sessions the Kiwis are 6/102 at lunch on day 3.

Cheers.

Sir Clive
And well deserved too. ;-)

Well the Kiwis fell 319 run short (all out for 148 with Cummins taking 5/28), but it doesn't look like the follow on will be enforced this time (which has surprised a lot).

Cheers.

Well newly elected Kiwi opener Tom Blundell has done what no other Kiwi opener has done since last century (1997 IIRC) and that's to score a test century against us as well as recording his best ever 1st class score of 121 runs.

The Kiwis also recorded their highest test innings so far this series.

But sadly 240 runs was no where near enough, though they don't have to front up tomorrow as a predicted heatwave with a >40C temp is expected.

The players will get an extra day's break before the Sydney test hits off on the 4th Jan, though the Kiwis will have to find a replacement for Boult who suffered a broken hand in the 1st innings.

Cheers.

After 5 sessions the Aussie's 1st innings comes to a close at 454 and the Kiwis will start theirs after the tea break. Labuschagne scored 215 of those.

After 3.5 sessions the Kiwis completed their 1st innings on 251 and still trailing the Aussies by 203 runs while Lyon took 5/68.
