Sad, but with major sports being highly lucrative for some time now, it's nothing new.

LOL. Got a bit scary near the end, thought they'd do the same as they did against Scotland.

They're a young team, but they'll grow out of it.

Cheers.

Great innings by England :-)

481-6 with Australia 239 all out.

Definitely a series win :-)

Australia has got some problems regarding depth of talent, not the same skill level compared to 15 yrs ago or more..

England should do well at all games I would think..

Considering that 10 years ago, our ODI team couldn't punch their way out of a paper bag.

Maybe they will get the Scots to beat them once a year so that they end up playing you like they have done today :-)

After the England 481 innings lots of "pundits" were moaning that the 50-over format and the wickets were aimed at helping the batsman. The last match in the series only produced a total of 414 runs in 82.7 overs - a lower total and a lower run-rate than England achieved in that earlier match. So much for the format and the wickets favouring the batsman.

Not as bad as the collapse that upset the final year students (most of them 1st eleven players) in their final year vs. staff & post grads.... their entire innings didn't last three overs. First ball, by tradition was a "grace" ball, head of department to captain of final year, one run scored, staff "duty" bowler moved in, I stepped back from first slip to nearer second slip to catch the fist proper batsman out with an easy one - and so it continued for the next four balls of the over (end of first over 1 run, five wickets), second over no runs, no wickets, still one run, five wickets; third over duty bowler takes over, captain (now batting in his "correct" place in the order) is out first ball, middle stump narrowly missed wicket keeper and so it continued, one more run was put on the board before they were all out for a magnificent 2 runs! Staff go in to bat, and win quite comfortably - first ball was sent to the boundary for four. End of match, retire to bar.
