Thanks for the confirmation. Yes, zi3v is great on the lack of inconclusives and errored tasks. If the code streams from CUDA and OpenCL apps could decide on the ordering of overflow counts, then the number of inconclusive and error tasks would drop dramatically and you could get that 20 second improvement in computation time and be worth it.

Little misleading statement. There is CPU apps too. And both OpenCL and CUDA should agree with their order not just align vs each other.

OK, true. All the apps need to align including the cpu apps. But you are more likely to paired with the SoG app as wingman from the sheer production quantity of that app compared to a cpu app and more likely to gain an inconclusive or errored task.

Just wanted to give notice, I've Upgraded the MacPro 5,1, (Daedalus), to 10.13.6 (17G65) with NVIDIA Driver Upgrade to 387.10.10.10.40.105 and am still on CUDA Driver 8.0.71.

Crunching on Daedalus resumed this evening at 6PM Pacific, and at some point this happened:

So, is this a "one off" and no need to worry, or are others seeing such issues on 10.13.6 on Real Macs??? 10.13.5 had no issues to report...

Thanks in advance for any info. :-)

Have you figured it out yet? Seems you only got that One Error. I tested the App r3551 on my most recent convert and it's working perfectly fine, just a little slower than your 1050, https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7769537. I looked at a few Hosts and they aren't having any trouble either, did You look at any? Besides the new Apps I'm trying to test, the only trouble I'm having is SETI doesn't like these Broadcom Ethernet chips in my HP boards. Strange no one else has a problem with them, and most of the time SETI doesn't mind them either. Not much I can do about that either.

In other news, not only does Petri's latest code work in High Sierra, but it also works with the Maxwell GPUs. The later versions of zi3xs didn't work with the Maxwells. The only problem is the same one that has existed since zi3x, it fails on the Overflows.

Haven't figured out the issue with this one unit... The ONLY thing I can think of is that it was about 97% completed on the prior OS, (10.13.5), and on the older NVIDIA Web Driver when 10.13.6 got installed and the new Web Driver took over. There may have been a glitch in the transfer of crunching from old to new NVIDIA Driver that BOINC didn't appreciate. (???)

Also had a MAJOR issue with Andromeda, (the Hackintosh), in getting the July 9th second Security Update installed. It COMPLETELY destroyed support for my two EVGA GTX-750TI SC cards. I could NOT get to Login after the Update. I solved this by moving the EVGA GTX-760 card from Exeter, (Win XP Pro system), to the Hackintosh and pulling the two 750TI SC cards. (Believe it or not, when I created the Hackintosh in 2016, I was told by Moderators at TonyMacx86.com that the 760 cards ARE NATIVE to MacOS.) Moving the 760 to the Hackintosh seems to have solved the issue of Login, and I was able to then Update the Web Drivers to the latest Version... (Redundant, since the Web Drivers ARE NOT needed for a 760 Card, BUT the CUDA Driver STILL IS!).

After getting the new Web Driver installed, I shut down the system and reinstalled one of the 750TI SC cards into the secondary PCIe Slot on the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P MOBO and AGAIN had Login issues and even when I did get in to the Desktop, within 45 Seconds the system rebooted... I pulled the 750 out again, and with ONLY the 760, the Hackintosh seems stable.

Now at 9:15 PM on 7-14-2018, in running StarCraft Remastered for several hours to stress test the system, the Hackintosh is STILL running with ONLY the 760 installed. I guess I'm stuck with ONLY one GPU in the Hackintosh from now on...

Good news is that the 760 is STILL on Extended Warranty with EVGA, and is under warranty until 2024. I purchased the EVGA extended warranty when the card was new in 2016. Unfortunately, since I did NOT buy the 750's from Central Computers, I was UNABLE to purchase the Extended Warranty on them... So the one 750 with Video Pipeline issues is now only good for crunching, but now with the second Security Update glitches, it WON'T be crunching in the Hackintosh. As to the good 750TI SC, it's now sitting on a table top, NOT in use anywhere... :-(

I may try reinstalling the good 750TI SC again tomorrow or Monday and see if I can Login, or if the system crashes reboots again. If at all possible, I'd like to have the Hackintosh back crunching with two GPUs again.

Well, just before I gave up on r3551 it gave an Error. I looked on Beta and found One nVidia Mac with a similar Error while a handful of others didn't have the Error. So, it appears similar to the ATI r3552 Error that r3610 fixes. The New nVidia App r3709 should fix the problem with r3551. Both r3610 & r3709 were recommended to Beta LAST year, only r3610 made it to Beta and it has been there ever since. ATI r3610 never made it to Main and nVidia r3709 never made it to Beta. Oh well. So, as before, I'd recommend people install the Newer Apps from Crunchers Anonymous if they don't want to get the occasional Error.

I found an excellent shortcut to building a Hackintosh with Sierra & High Sierra, as long as you also have a real Mac. Go ahead and make the Installer USB but don't use it to install. Place the Hack's SSD in the real Mac and Clone the System to it using either Disk Utility or the Free SuperDuper. When finished remove AppleTyMCEDriver.kext from the Clone so the Hack doesn't Panic when it doesn't find ECC ram. Place the Clone in the Hack and use the installer USB to boot to the Clone. Then install Clover r3998 and the FakeSMC to the Clone....that's it. Works for Me. The only thing left is to install the correct Ethernet and Audio driver. I also use the same config.plist since all my boards are the same. Easiest Hack job in the East. Shame SETI doesn't like any of the 4 Ethernet drivers I've tried. That earns another Oh Well.

Just finished the LOOOONG game of StarCraft Remastered on Andromeda - Hackintosh. All HIGH Quality Video Settings were kept from the 750TI SC set. No crashes or reboots. No video glitches in game. In fact I got to see the entire Game Boot Screen Sequence with Remastered Graphics. (The 750's tended to cut off the Game Boot Intro...) So, I think I have my answer... DO NOT reinstall the 750's into the Hackintosh. :-(

I'm now going to restore crunching for the night and through tomorrow. I'm just going to remove the Set Time Window from Local Computing Options and let the system crunch 24 Hours straight to catch up on lost time.

Wish me luck. :-)

Nice improvement!
Could you try with a new flag: -pfl 64
It sets a splitting point to pulse finding which one of the internal functions to use.
I find the -pfl 64 give faster run times compared to default (no flag set equals to -pfl 512). I'll change that in confsettings.cpp to 64 in the future.

Message 1944690 - Posted: 16 Jul 2018, 6:35:59 UTC - in response to Message 1944686.

I have it in the app_info, but, it's not showing up on any of the machines. Looking at the confsettings.cpp, what else needs changing besides the g_pfFftLimit;
//defaults for long pulsefinds, need to be set at runtime in InitConfig()
int pfBlocksPerSM = 0;
int pfPeriodsPerLaunch = 0;
int pfPeriodsPerLaunch2 = 1;
int g_pfFftLimit = 512;
int unroll = 0;
bool chirpInAdvance = false;

Also, for some reason my standard Arecibo shorties in the benchmark app are overflowing when they shouldn't. What's strange is the shortened Arecibo versions from Lunatics aren't overflowing, just the ones I grabbed from BOINC long ago. They work fine with zi3xs3 and the other older apps in the benchmark app.

Your offline benchmark run needs it in comlineoptions.txt.

Just the 512 to 64.
I need to make the executable to print the value it is using.

Can you please email me the Arecibo shortie that is overflowing and its correct result.sah file to compare against to so that I do not have to run it on CPU first.

Still has the problem with the Arecibo Shorties...not that I ever see any of those anymore.
All I ever see now are the Arecibo VLARS. Many, Many Arecibo VLARs, and CreditScrew has worked it's magic on them so as now they pay Less than a 'Normal' Arecibo 0.42 even though they take Twice as long.

TBar,

I've now got Hackintosh-Andromeda's BOINC Data running on the MacPro 5,1. This means that the MacPro is now on your Anonymous Platform OpenCL App. It's crunching fine, BUT is using the GTX-750TI SC Command Line that you gave me... Should this Command Line info be Updated to better run on the GTX-1050???

The ReadMe shows the same settings for the Mid-Range cards, x50 x60 x70. You might try an additional setting that seems to save a few seconds though,
-sbs 256 -oclfft_tune_wg 256 -tune 1 64 1 4 -spike_fft_thresh 2048 -pref_wg_num_per_cu 6 -period_iterations_num 2
If you receive a lot of screen lag with -period_iterations_num 2, then change it back to 16, or 12, or whatever feels good.
-pref_wg_num_per_cu 6 seems to work without any trouble on my cards, and is a little faster.

I ordered a USB Ethernet Adapter for my fastest machine. Seems SETI doesn't like any of the Ethernet drivers available for the old Broadcom device on these HP boards.
We'll see how it likes the USB device...

TBar,

Just encountered "Waiting for shared memory" message after copying in the Anonymous Platform CPU Ver 8.03 exe and Appinfo.xml... Never had this on the Hackintosh, nor did Daedalus encounter this using Stock Apps.

Daedalus was able to crunch CPU and GPU Apps at the same time... What's different in the Andromeda Profile with the Anonymous Platform???

Check if your app_info.xml file has the API line in the CPU section. If it doesn't, Add the line so it looks like this and restart BOINC,
<platform>x86_64-apple-darwin</platform>
<version_num>803</version_num>
<api_version>7.5.0</api_version>
<file_ref>

None of My machines need that line, some machines do.
If you haven't updated the Machine to BOINC 7.10.3, then update it.

DAMN!!!!! I tried messing around to get rid of that "Waiting for shared memory" Msg, AND ALL MY WORK DISAPPEARED... :-(

FRAKK!!! This is what I was trying to avoid!!!

Now I have a bunch of Ghosts! :-(

[EDIT:]

I've restored the Projects' Folder to what Hackintosh -Andromeda had working on it, and I'll just stick to ONLY crunching GPU Tasks on New-Andromeda.

Bummer... :-(

Frankly, it's impossible to trash your work by adding that one line to the CPU section. So, you must have done something else besides adding that one API line.
Just add that one line in the location I indicated and it will probably work.
