I just downloaded Boinc. I have Seti@home in my projects. It doesn't seem to be doing anything though. I literally have no idea what I am doing. Is there a good youtube tutorial or something I can watch to help me from drowning? When I click on help my boinc manager does not look like the boinc manager that is shown in the images and such. I do not have a bar that has an option for file, view, option, tools, help. My boinc just says "Processing Suspended: Running on Batteries." I just feel very lost. I know this question has probably been answered already so bare with me and help me find a link to that thread if that is the case. FYI I am using a MacBookPro if that makes a difference. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks so much. Peace & Love

When you look at your BOINC manager, does it look similar to this?

This is what we call a basic appearance of the BOINC manager.

This is what we refer to as advance view of the BOINC manager

You can change this appearance by clicking on the bonic manager, you should now have at the top of your screen next to the apple icon the following..Boinc Manager, file, view, options, tools, help

When you click on view, there should a be advance view from the pull down.

By default, the setting for Boinc is not to run any projects when your laptop is not connected to it's powercord. That way it doesn't run down your computer.

Once it's connected to your powercord, that should allow boinc to start up.

As long as you have an internet connection, it should contact Seti and ask for work. As of right now, no work has been sent.

If after you connect to a power source and internet, if it still doesn't download any work, then we will need to look further at the BOINC manager.
