The whir of my Amateur Radio's cooling fan as I read some good e-Books. Just finished (several days ago) the most recent of Mike Shepherd's "Kris Longknife" series; re-reading Mack Maloney's "Wingman" series now, only about 70% through Book #2 so far.

When I used to work 3rd shift, I developed a taste for ambient music like Zero 7 and Air. I still like those bands. They're good for zoning out.

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell. ~Certainly not their best work, but special because I went to see them that year - 1994.

Rachmaninov Concert number 2 on Radio RAI 3 via FM. The orchestra is the Santa Cecilia National Orchestra, the pianist is the Russian Eugeny Kissin, if I understood the speaker.

They've been rather active, here, too, plus with the crickets it's been rather cacophonous at night.

Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Gioacchino Rossini from the LAC Auditorium in Lugano via Channel 2 of the Radio della Svizzera Italiana. Diego Fasolis conducts the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana. I get it via Internet.

Silence (now). From about 0000Z (UTC) Friday (5pm local time) until roughly 2400Z today, I was listening to almost nonstop Amateur Radio RTTY (Radioteletype) sounds as I participated in a RTTY contest (my 1st one - I've participated in other types of radiosport before, but not this).

I only made 76 contacts in that time frame, but for my first contest of this type, I don't think that's too bad.
