So at this point SSP says we have 21 of 7 splitters running, and generation rate around 1 per second. Seems like this issue of doubling up (?) and resultant slow down is getting worse... If nothing else, somebody is losing track of what the splitters are really doing...

Okay, it's near panic mode.

SSP shows almost 6K of MBv8. But none of them are for GPU's.

Where are MBv7 wu's for GPU's?

Near 600K of MBv8, not 6K.

I always said one day I'd like to learn to build a SETI App in Linux. Well, it appears today is that day. I installed the latest AMD-SDK and now my AMD-APP says it's 1214 instead of 1526, and nothing seems to get it back to 1526.

I'm already even more unhappy.

OK, now to install boinc-master again...

Ok, looks like I'm not getting any v7 GPU work all.

Only noticed as all 16 CPU core suddenly went to 100%.

Fixed that, is there a problem with sending out v7?

Looks like the RTS buffer for v7 is virtually empty..

Eric has posted
We're releasing the versions for CPUs first. We'll release versions for graphics processing units (GPUs) and Android devices as they come available. We're releasing slowly so as not to overtax our download server. This update will happen automatically, unless you use a special version you got from another web site.

Yep, we know it :)

But when v8 was released to main, v7 GPU wu's were gone.

No GPU work.

For how long? For Us, the users for optimized apps?

Check the new app thread.

A GPU app for ATI is available on my website.
I have no idea when NV is ready.

Not bad. A couple hours later and I have a working App that passes the benchmarks. I suppose all those months of building OSX Apps helped a bit.
Now to see how it does. The first task on Main,

I'm on CPU now, both v7 and v8. Mixed use is a good thing despite of any warnings.
No GPU tasks for v7. The cache is empty.

I'll go to sleep. Dream of jason_gee's CUDA update and wake up to a busy tomorrow poring a v8 CUDA app for linux.

That's my dream.

Still no new MBv7 work being split. Could be the Ready-to-send buffer for v8 is what the splitters are now using for deciding if the buffer is full or not. 549,000 WUs ready to go there.

They've stopped producing MB v7 tasks, as stated by Eric:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=78716

This means all you will get in the way of MBv7 are re-sends, and they will rapidly fade into the past.....

I use Lunatics (v7, obviously).
IF I delete my app_info.xml, will I wind up getting the v8 app(s) installed?

SHOULD I do this, whilst waiting for the v8 Lunatics release? I finished all my GPU v7 work, and am finishing the CPU v7 work soon, so there would seem to be no downside, right?

EDIT - I did it anyway. and got some v8 (CPU only, of course...). All the v7s got ditched, but who cares, at this point? At least I will get the v8 GPU apps without doing anything when they are released, and I won't have to pay any attention to my crunchers until the v8 Lunatics comes out (whenever that is).

Hope these are all bug free!!!!

EDIT II: BTW, thanks for helping with my electric bill, and giving my 980s a little time off.

Server Status page still shows plenty of files being split, however even after refreshing it a couple of times it's still showing 549,000 v8 WUs ready-to-send, the same as when I first checked it this morning.
So i'm thinking something's gotten stuck somewhere.
