Now that we are hopefully past the routing problems, it is time for a new thread.

Does anyone know why the d/l server #2 on Vader has been down for some time and any idea of when it will back up?

If my memory serves me correctly they needed to use a server for the main Boinc project page. I have no idea when it is going to come back online though as a download server

Vader still appears at SSP running several tasks. So I think it is not BOINC web-server.

Nslookup for boinc.berkeley.edu results 208.68.240.115 (isaac.ssl.berkeley.edu) and nslookup for vader.ssl.berkeley.edu points to 208.68.240.127

Well... DNS is mysterious, several computers can be one, or one can be several..

Yes, but Vader ain't it.

I asked Matt about it, here's what he answered me:

The vader system is up and running perfectly. But instead of having it also running a download server on it I'm just having all download traffic destined for vader forwarded to georgem. For now this is working better than vader hosting a second download server (what works better changes depending on the NFS overhead picture).

I thought Matt said Eric found "a few" 2011 tapes that he wanted to look at again. It sure seems like we are doing the complete year again.

There will be a bunch more 2015 data when we get the next shipment from Arecibo. And we are making good progress on the Green Bank splitter.

Good to hear Matt, I just hope your servers can handle the extra data source.

EDIT: Not that I'm complaining about redoing tapes, I know having consistent data is the most important for Science.

And, any word on when that next Arecibo shipment is due, Matt?

Is it just me or are the task pages not updating (for users and computers)?

OK, than I know. Was not sure because in the past it worked also sometimes without the replica.

Only if the boys transfer the stats page to real time instead opf the replica, which does not happen often.
