As long as you do industry standard however inadequate you are protected from suit. Same applies to securing PII online. Is it not .44 Magnum? That's big ammo for real men! |

Is it not .44 Magnum? And not conducive to good marksmanship. 9mm or .45ACP for me. Been around for over a century and still very available at a reasonable price. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

However 9 mm. I have a box somewhere around. |

We have some agreement and I am glad to see you propose this although a national Stop and Frisk law where police can stop and frisk randomly anyone in order to search for concealed weapons would never pass constitutional 4th amendment test. The constitution would have to be amended and *I* wouldn't want to live in that kind of police state nor do I think any Oath Keeper, who are strong 2nd amendment rights supporters, would either. NYPD crime stats do not appear to support your comment that crime and shooting have recently increased, year to date crime is down 3.49% compared to last year and the fall from 2 years ago is 6.55%. Year to date shootings are marginally down compared to last year, though up (by less than 6%) compared to 2 years ago. The 22 year falls for crime in general and shootings in particular are higher than 76%. The ACLU's data suggests that the benefits of stop and frisk were politicized by Bloomberg, not the current mayor. There are many NYC residents (myself included) that would be happy if stop and frisk were ended, it hasn't been yet. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

There are many NYC residents (myself included) that would be happy if stop and frisk were ended, it hasn't been yet. No argument with that as a goal, stop and frisk as it was practiced in NYC did not appear to have that goal as its primary (or even secondary) purpose (which may explain why the ACLU has an interest). I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

There are many NYC residents (myself included) that would be happy if stop and frisk were ended, it hasn't been yet. But now all airline passengers in the world are stopped and frisked because of 9/11. It's so stupid. Even the FBI chief admits that to our former minister of justice! |

Bobby; I think you need to examine your referenced data on crime.http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/downloads/pdf/crime_statistics/cs-en-us-city.pdf OVERALL crime is down 3.49% YTD However Murder is up 7.1% Rape is up 6.5% and Robbery is up 1%, these were offset by drops in Larceny, Felonius Assault and Auto Theft (GLA). So more people were murdered, raped and robbed but less had their cars stolen..... As to your stated 2 year statistics, that included the period when Stop and Frisk was being carried out and those lower percentages were the result of that tactic. Please analyze before you quote. BTW: Make sure it a Steel Frame Gun, not Plastic. Just in case you have to hit your assailant with it. Don't hit so hard you break it, you might need to reload ... http://www.historynet.com/shootout-in-the-bella-union-hotel.htm Frank King stepped forward and struck Carlisle on the head with his empty revolver with such force that the weapon broke. Carlisle, considered by many to be a man of iron, staggered to the wall, raised his revolver with both hands and fired. |

From experience as well, it's the quality of the ammunition that counts in a lot of cases. I've fired 9mm that wouldn't penetrate a piece of paper at 30m (100ft) and good quality that would kill at 100m (330ft). |

Police guns of the type P 229 can lock up. Now Uppsala police had to replace hundreds of weapons sometimes not possible to shoot with. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p229.aspx When the guns were tested, it was found that one fifth of weapons was flawed, reports P4 Uppland. - In Uppsala, it is a hundred policemen with their guns replaced. They have to replace them in order to work safely, says Erik Lagerholm, director of business protection in the police Central region. Police chief have demanded that the current model must be tested in all police regions. |

Police guns of the type P 229 can lock up. Now Uppsala police had to replace hundreds of weapons sometimes not possible to shoot with.Sig Sauer firearms are built to very exacting tolerances. Slight differences in parts can cause them to jam or 'stovepipe'. I own a Sig P238 .380(also known as 9mm short), that had a problem after the first 50 rounds, I first thought it was dirt and cleaned the bejusus out of it to know avail. I finally had to return it to Sig for fine machining adjustment(at their cost I might add) and now it runs like a sewing machine. No jams, no stovepipes just point and squirt. I suspect your police got a bad lot that needed to be retooled. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Slight differences in parts can cause them to jam or 'stovepipe'. My bet is that our police got them cheap:) The two towns Gothenburg and Malmö has becoming dangerous places to live in. There are perhaps not mass shootings but there are shoot outs and sometimes even hand grenades are used! |

":D) I think it would be safest to simply treat those purses as 'suspicious packages' and let the bomb disposal unit blow them up in an empty field somewhere ;) |
