I'm old cruncher and use BOINC more than 10 years. Crunch for SETI@home. Now use Windows 10 64 bit and BOINC 7.6.9 (with Lunatics). Watch for my CPU and see VEEY BIG 12-15 processor queue length. I don't know where it happened but my PC reeze time to time. Any ideas?

It would seem that your queue length should be expected behavior. According to your link:

Different guidelines apply for queue lengths on multiprocessor systems. For busy systems (those having processor utilization in the 80 to 90 percent range) that use thread scheduling, the queue length should range from one to three threads per processor. For example, on a four-processor system, the expected range of processor queue length on a system with high CPU activity is 4 to 12.

Emphasis mine. You have 8 CPU systems, so 12-15 shouldn't be unusual.

As to what is causing your freezing, it certainly sounds like a bottleneck or a failing component showing signs under stress (I'm sure removing the stress of BOINC would make the symptom go away, but that doesn't mean it was fixed).

For example, on a four-processor system, the expected range of processor queue length on a system with high CPU activity is 4 to 12.

Agree with this but 2 month ago I have 1-3. Nothing changes. No additional program installed

You installed a whole new operating system. If that's the only thing changed, don't you think that's the first thing you should look at?

BOINC doesn't use the CPU, that's done by the project's science applications.
But BOINC does tell the science applications how much of the CPU to use. Are you sure all your preferences are still correct?

Sometimes I will find a machine where BOINC has 30-40 hours of CPU time & is using 150MB+ of memory, but I haven't seen any systems hangs from such behavior. I think that normally occurs for me when we have an unexpected outage & BOINC keeps making requests over & over.
I'll just restart BOINC or the system at that point.

Because you're not leaving any CPU time for your GPUs, thus the CPUs are being over-queued. Leave at least one CPU core to feed your GPU and your CPU queuing problem should go away.

For me Potentially Unwanted Programs - game Word of Tanks that my son plays. For my son Potentially Unwanted Programs is C++ compiler because him lazy and don't want learn programming :)
For my wife Potentially Unwanted Programs is BOINC for many reason.

BOINC, Word of Tanks or C++ compiler will be Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP)
- if they are installed covertly or by using misleading check-boxes
- at the time when user try to install something completely different.
Especially if they start automatically (on Windows login, by Scheduled Tasks) and are hard to remove (e.g. no obvious and working uninstall procedure)

E.g. you install 7-Zip using the installer from download.cnet.com (instead of clean installer from 7-zip.org)
Covertly the CNET installer will Download and install toolbars, Plug-ins to show ads, change home page, change search provider, etc... - all unwanted by the user.


You may reconsider the way you earn money from your Software
- instead of forcibly pushing ads on the user (and this way annoy and push the user away from your Software/site)
you may try donations or shareware (e.g. pay after 30 days of use)
